Auolive Day Glower review: Does this multi-functional moisturiser really work?

I don’t get a lot of sleep. There, I’ve said it.

I know that I’ve always told readers that adequate sleep is important because it doesn’t just give you good skin, it also gives you good health, but I’m guilty of not walking the talk.

As a newlywed who is still adapting to a new lifestyle and environment, and who is also holding a job that takes up a lot of my time, I always find myself getting less sleep than I should.

Sometimes, in order to sneak in more sleep into the day, I choose to sacrifice my morning regimen. I snooze the alarm clock another time, giving myself the excuse that I can sleep in for another 10 minutes if I skip certain steps in my regular skincare routine.

Claire grew up watching her mother juggle work and family, and noticed that she’s always rushing. Is the Auolive Day Glower good?

True to its simplicity, the entire Auolive range consists of only four products: the Day Glower (a day moisturiser), Night Booster (a night moisturiser), Eyes Lifter (an eye serum), and Radiance Revealer (an exfoliating gel).

I was honestly a bit skeptical whether such a stripped-down regimen was going to work for my demanding skin. But the fact that Auolive products are dermatologically and clinically tested by an independent lab gave me additional confidence. I decided to give the Day Glower a try before deciding if I’d like to try the other products.

First impression of Auolive Day Glower

I’m someone who appreciate good packaging and I like how the Day Glower looks. It has a sleek design with brightly coloured, beautiful calligraphy on it, which is a great feast for the eyes to perk up my day. Not to mention there’s no need to guess it’s definitely for the day – the beauty reminder on the bottle says “Rise & Shine”!

The second thing that caught my attention is the way the product is delivered. The Day Glower is encased within a unique pump bottle, which I have to turn to reveal the dispenser, and then turn again to hide the dispenser.

I later found out that this “airless pump” packaging is a Korean technology; unlike the open valve bottles that we are more familiar with, the airless pump is air-tight, which ensures the product has zero exposure to its surrounding, reducing the chance for contamination, and protecting the integrity of the active ingredients in the product. And for busy women who find their morning rush a chaotic one, or when travelling, this leak- and spill-proof bottle will definitely save your day. 

Did Auolive Day Glower work?

The Auolive Day Glower is designed to be an all-in-one moisturiser. This water-based cream is to be applied right after cleansing, and is the only step you need before your makeup routine. Fortified by natural active ingredients including the Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract and Squalene, this is an anti-oxidant moisturiser, which offers sun protection (of SPF30 with UVA protection), and works as a makeup base as well.

I like that just the right amount of product is dispensed with each pump, and the non-greasy formula glides on very easily onto my skin and is absorbed immediately with no sticky feel. I find myself spending very little time to get everything onto my entire face.

I was pleasantly surprised, especially during the first few times I used it. “Oh, wait, that’s it? That’s it!” was the thought that ran through my mind. I was very pleased that I could actually proceed with my makeup immediately, when I usually have to struggle with a few more products. I’m pretty sure I save about 20 minutes every morning with the Day Glower.

While the routine is simplified, I don’t find my skin quality compromised in any way. In fact, the Day Glower gives my skin a smooth and bright-looking canvas, which is great for the makeup routine that follows.

On days I have more time to spare, I layer on the Day Glower with other serums that I have in my stash, and it works seamlessly with them. While I still appreciate what my usual products can do for me, I really like that I have the option to have a simpler morning routine, with the help of the Auolive Day Glower, without feeling like I’ve short-changed myself.

I have also started using the Night Booster more recently. I like the serum-like texture of this night treatment and how nourishing it feels on my skin. I wake up with a veil-like sensation on my skin, which makes me feel like my skin has been well-protected through the night.
