We often worry about the skincare and cleansers we use on our face and body, checking ingredients and testing them extensively. Unfortunately, we tend to forget to look into some of the things that we use on a daily basis, like shampoos!
Most shampoos that aren’t organic tend to use ingredients that can potentially irritate the scalp, cause some form of hair loss or contain carcinogens. The key culprit? The ingredient Sodium Lauryl Sulfate.
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, along with other ingredients like Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Propylene Glycol and Olefin Sulfonate, can dry out and damage the hair and skin, causing early hair loss and scalp damage for some people.
Fret not, because I’ve found some sulfate and paraben-free alternatives for you!
