If you have watched The Producers, one of the most anticipated K-dramas this year, you might have noticed leading lady Kong Hyo Jin sporting beautiful lip colours in the show. Two of the prettiest shades you might have seen, are from the newly-launched Clio Virgin Kiss Tension Lip collection. Kong Hyo Jin, by the way, has taken over from Sandara Park, as the new face of Clio.

We love the gorgeous packaging of the Virgin Kiss Tension Lip. It’s obvious that lots of thoughts have been put into it: every side of the box comes with interesting prints, and the lipstick itself looks pretty both with and without its cap.

We are also excited about all six colours it comes in: three shades of pink, one peach, one nude (which really looks more coral), and a tomato red. Psst, the colours that were seen on The Producers are No. 9 Pinkly and No. 10 Peachnista.

4 Reviewers, 1 Conclusion

Four of Daily Vanity‘s writers tried the Virgin Kiss Tension Lip and put it to the selfie-test. Here are their reviews:

…the colour survived through dinner, supper, and late-night internet surfing before shower time!

Jacelyn says: In terms of its colour, it took a few applications to build up, but the payoff looked exactly like the lipstick itself. Its texture felt more like lip balm than regular lipstick, and that helped smoothen the cracks on my lips. The most amazing thing was that it dries five minutes after application, so there is minimal transfer onto anything your lip comes in contact with. I was also amazed that the colour survived through dinner, supper, and late-night internet surfing before shower time!

It’s creamy and pigmented… and it stayed on my lips really nicely even after getting a drink and having some dessert.

Tiara says: It’s creamy and pigmented! With one swipe, the lipstick totally covered my natural lip colour. Even though it appeared to have accentuated my dry lips, it didn’t make them drier, and it stayed on my lips really nicely even after getting a drink and having some dessert. I also think this is great for achieving that stained ombre lip look that Korean stars are currently sporting. You can even use your fingers to dab instead of applying it straight from the bullet to get a stained look.

Vanessa says: I am a huge sucker for good packaging and when I saw how sleek it looked, I swooned in delight. Although the colour didn’t seem highly-pigmented on the first swipe, it’s not too much of a worry as the shade is definitely buildable. A huge plus point for people who can’t find the time (read: are too lazy) to touch up, is how fade-resistant this lipstick. Going through a “drink” test, the colour did seem to come off and leave an impression on the cup, but not much colour budged, and I did not have to reapply my lipstick. One would expect that a lipstick with such colour payoff to be rather drying on the lips, but I found it to be hydrating even after extended wear.

Charlene says: Red Liar is a vibrant red that will instantly perk up any complexion. As my lips are usually dry, I applied a lip balm first before swiping Red Liar across my lips. I could have actually skipped the lip balm because the formula is quite moisturising. It glides on smoothly and comfortably, without emphasising any lines. After a couple of drinks, a very natural and even red stain was left behind, which I really like! I like to dab on my lipstick, so here it looks more like a stain but you can see just how pigmented it is.
