I’ve been travelling quite a lot recently and as someone who tries to travel as light as possible, I find Bio-Oil a great travel companion. My first encounter with the product was to use it as a scar lightening oil, which it has proven to be a good at. These are the other functions that it performs, making it a great product to bring along during travels:
1. It is a moisturiser
Bio-Oil is formulated using a trademarked ingredient, PurCellin Oil, which can help to prevent dryness and guard against moisture loss. While this product is an oil, it doesn’t leave behind any grease, but instead makes the skin feel smooth to touch after application.
2. It has anti-ageing benefits
The product also contains vitamins A and E, calendula, lavender and rosemary oils, and chamomile extract, all of which are known for their antioxidant properties.
3. It is an after-suncare
You should definitely remember your sunscreen especially when you’re on a beach vacation, but should you get a burn, apply this on your skin to soothe the area and avoid excessive peeling.
4. It is a pre-shave treatment
I don’t know about you but I tend to see my skin peeling after hair removal. Apply this before epilating or shaving for a smoother process.
5. Treat peeling cuticles
Dry cuticles that peel especially in cold climates can be improved by applying this on them.
6. Tame flyaways
Guess what – it’s a hair oil too. Unruly hair that goes more frizzy when the air is dry will do well with some of it.
7. It is a makeup primer
This helps foundation to go on more smoothly.
By the way, Kim Kardashian reportedly swears by Bio-Oil to smooth out her stretch marks from her pregnancy too.
Bio-Oil now comes in larger sizes, at 125ml, and retail at SGD25.90, available at all leading pharmacies, personal care stores, selected hospitals and department stores.
