bareMinerals was launched in 1995 by a larger company, Bare Escentuals, with the aim to create sans-chemicals natural makeup that would be beneficial to the skin. Their star product is a loose powder foundation that offers light to medium coverage and a whole lot of goodness.
It was only after Japanese powerhouse Shiseido bought over Bare Escentuals did the brand really start expanding and producing other makeup products such as liquid foundation, pressed powders, blushers, and lipsticks.
They are now an established cruelty-free brand, creating simple and skin-friendly makeup. If these things matter to you, it’s also good to keep in mind that their parent company Shiseido do still test on animals.

Despite being a loose product and therefore a little messy, they have gained an A rating on Temptalia. The big-time online reviewer says the texture is smooth and silky, which makes it easy to blend, and only fades after eight hours. Sounds like a winner to us!
