4. Color Kill Makeup Liquid Lipstick in “Indie Red” , SGD27
True to its name, Indie Red, this liquid lipstick’s colour is not what lipstick novices will dare to wear. It has a really bright red that stands out even more due to its mega matte texture.
1. Comfort

This lipstick dries mega matte. The level of “matteness” was to the point that it was really very dry, and slightly uncomfortable because it felt like the formula was clinging really tightly to my lips. The smell of the formula reminds me of paint, which is a little bit of a turn off for me.
2. Saturation and colour

The red was really vivid, so one good swipe was all I needed to get the “perfect” look. However, the formula was really watery and dried quickly after the application. Hence, it was hard to control and define the lips. This can really be a problem especially when you are using colours so bold, you’d want to achieve a clean line.
3. Longevity

When the formula dried, it passed the “kiss test” with flying colours. There were no stains on my cup nor on my hands, where I performed the kiss test. However, once I was hitting the oily food during dinner, the formula came off, leaving the inner lips “empty”.
Tip: The formula was really movable during dinner. So, to not look like a clown, simply use your fingers to spread the leftover lipstick to give it a “gradient” effect.

After removing using a facial wipe
It can prove to be quite a challenge if you try to remove it straight after application. I used makeup remover wipes to remove the product, and I find myself rubbing really hard to get it off my lips. But it was easy to shift around while I was eating.
Tip: Instead of makeup wipes, try using oil-based makeup removers on cotton pads for easier removal of stubborn makeup.
5. Bonus points
The box that carries the product was pretty and had that “Fantasy” mashed up with “Strawberry Shortcake” feeling to it. However, as the packaging comes in two separate pieces, a cover and then the box itself, do take care not let it slide out and drop onto the floor! (I am guilty as charged.)

4. Girlactik Matte Lip Paint in “Starlet” , SGD34
With celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Lily Maymac rocking the more muted and neutral colours, the name “Starlet” for this liquid lipstick couldn’t be more befitting! This formula features an understated shade of mauve, perfect for those looking to add just a tinge of colour to their complexion!

The consistency of the product was not as watery as the liquid lipstick from “Colour Kill”, hence application was a breeze. The formula dries to become a mega matte texture. Although it finishes very matte, the formula doesn’t “cling” to my lips, hence wearing it was quite comfortable.
2. Saturation and colour

The colour payoff was good hence it only took one swipe for me to get a really pigmented look. Piling on another layer of the product was fine too as it dried several seconds after application and does not crack.
3. Longevity

After an entire meal, there was still a significant amount of product left on the lips. Even though my lips were kind of oily, I still could not really shift the product to cover the parts that were empty.

I tried to remove the product straight after application, but that proved to be a problem as I was rubbing my lips really hard which proved to be quite uncomfortable.
TIPS: Try using oil-based makeup remover instead of using the makeup wipes. This way we can control the amount of makeup remover in the cotton pad. Oil-based makeup remover also cushions friction, which reduces the chances of you getting abrasion on your lips.
5. Bonus points
The product smells amazing! It really reminds me of the butterscotch ice cream from Swensens. The size of the product was small enough to fit in my bag, and also big enough for me to comfortably use the product.

6. Beauty Bakerie Lip Whip in “Mon Cheri”, SGD29.90
“Mon Cheri” means “My Darling” in English, and this bright red lip is really a darling for brightening up my skin tone. This liquid lipstick is my favourite out of the three I have tried, and I’ve received many positive comments for wearing this colour, hence this will not be the last time I am wearing it!

Prior to wearing this lipstick, my lips were feeling quite dry and I was a little wary about trying it. Surprising, although this formula dries mega matte, it was not very drying! Thumbs up for that!
2. Saturation and colour

As mentioned, the colour was really bright, hence it scores well in this department. However, I must add that the formula could have been a little bit thicker to allow easier application, a very important point especially for an unforgiving colour like red!

This was what’s left of Mon Cheri after lunch. Most of the liquid lipstick in the inner lip were already “eaten away”, but the product on the outer lip stayed strong!

The product was really hard to remove with makeup wipes, and the tugging really hurt on a soft feature like the lips.
5. Bonus points
The packaging, although not the prettiest, was quite informative! They recommend removing the product with oil-based makeup remover, for instance.
