My therapist ushered me into one of the treatment rooms to change into a set of disposable undergarments. Then, she came back in to snap “before” pictures of my abdominal area and recorded my measurements at three points, so that we could compare the differences after.

She used a sanitising wipe to clean the treatment area before getting me to lie on my stomach. As I made myself comfortable, she applied a slippery gel on my back to help the treatment device glide on much more smoothly.

She turned the treatment machine on and went to work, manoeuvring the two device heads across sections of my back and sides. It felt very much like a relaxing massage session sans heat or cold, although you should be prepared for some involuntary muscle twitching courtesy of the EMS.

Once she was done with my back, she instructed me to turn to the front, applied the same gel on my tummy and began again.
