Exfoliating is an important part of the skincare regime because our skin cells die everyday, and they are left on the surface of the skin if we don’t exfoliate and remove them. Dull-looking complexion and blackheads are two problems lead about by that layer of dead skin cells on the skin. Also, without exfoliation, the goodness of your skincare products cannot penetrate easily into the skin! Horror!
Daily Vanity puts five exfoliators to the test and compare them according to the following criteria:
- How the skin feels after exfoliating
- For how long the effects last
- Whether it feels too harsh on the skin
- How it smells
- Overall impression
Let’s take a look at the five products we are comparing:
Benefit B.right Refined Finish Facial Polish
This is one of the products that Benefit Cosmetics launched in its B.right skincare line. It is rather gentle scrub and has a floral scent that smells really good.
How to use: Apply the exfoliator onto skin (without wetting), put a ltitle water to allow the product to be spread across the skin. Then slowly massage.

We accredited up to 5 points for each criteria up and tabulate the total score by adding up all the points. For how long effects last, if it’s one day, the product earns 1 point; if it’s two days, it earns 2 points.
