“My favourite thing about the product is how it instantly makes my skin feel more refreshed after using it. It almost automatically makes my skin feel cleaner and I have noticed that since I began using it, my skin has actually become less oily.” – Mia, Editorial Intern.

Double cleansing is an essential step in any evening skincare routine as it ensures you are really getting rid of all the oils and dirt that have built up on your face throughout the day. This Micellar Cleansing Water is perfect for those with oily skin as it removes grime and makeup without being too harsh on your skin.

Good Molecules Hydrate & Cleanse Bar

Credit: goodmolecules on Instagram

“I’ve been using this soap-free, hydrating cleansing bar from Good Molecules as my daily face wash for months now, and my acne-prone, sensitive skin has never been happier.

Made with a pH-balanced blend of macadamia seed oil, sweet almond oil, and shea butter, it creates a creamy lather and nourishes my skin as it washes away dirt and impurities. My skin is left soft, smooth, and clean after every use – never dry, tight, or irritated.” – Jade, Senior Writer.

People often expect facial bar soaps to be harsh and drying for the skin, but that is no longer the case for the bar soaps of today. The Good Molecules Hydrate & Cleanse Bar cleanses even the driest, most sensitive skin without stripping it of moisture or irritating it.

Good Molecules Hydrate & Cleanse Bar is available on Beautylish for S$6.84 (US$5).

PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash Benzoyl Peroxide 10% Maximum Strength

Credit: PanOxyl

“If you have sensitive or sensitised skin and you need something stronger to kick your zits to the curb, try a benzoyl peroxide face wash instead of a spot treatment or exfoliant. That way, you can deliver the pimple-busting benefits of benzoyl peroxide and avoid any potential irritation at the same time.

This product popped up on practically every skincare Instagram account I followed, so I had to try it out for myself to see what the hype was about.

On days when I get hormonal acne or maskne, I apply this PanOxyl wash only on the areas where I’m breaking out and leave it on for 30 seconds to a minute. After washing it off, I follow up with a hydrating moisturiser. This method shrinks my blemishes in days and takes the redness away.

If I’m not breaking out, I won’t reach for this at all, but whenever a few pimples pop up before or during my time of the month, I use it every night until the swelling goes down. It works wonders on scalp, chest, and back acne too, which is why I go through a tube so quickly.” – Jade, Senior Writer.

PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash Benzoyl Peroxide 10% Maximum Strength is available for S$14.84 on iHerb.

ETUDE Soonjung Cica Relief Toner Pad

Credit: etudesingapore on Instagram

“It’s very convenient for a [quick] morning ‘masking’. After cleansing, you can place two to three pads on your face for a few minutes before taking them off and wiping your face with it as a toner. My skin really loved it [as it doesn’t contain fragrances], and it also provides a calming and cooling effect, especially in the morning when you need a quick pick-me-up.” – Melissa, Senior Campaign Executive.

If you’re looking for a hydrating product for your sensitive and dehydrated skin, look no further than the Soonjung Cica Relief Toner Pad. Cica (a.k.a. centella asiatica) is an ingredient common among products for sensitive skin as it is very gentle and soothing.

This product has no added fragrance and comes in a tub with a plastic tweezer, so you can take out each toner pad easily. You can use them as a mask for some extra hydration, or as a regular toner pad.

Soonjung Cica Relief Toner Pad is available for S$35 at ETUDE .

Geek & Gorgeous 101 aPAD

Credit: geekandgorgeous on Instagram

“I first heard about this serum from Juston (@myskinisglass) and it was a timely discovery as I wanted to try an azelaic acid product. Azelaic acid is said to target blemishes, redness, and pigmentation – my top skin concerns. However, this formula uses a new-generation form of azelaic acid, Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate (PAD), which has similar properties to azelaic acid but allows a lightweight, oil-free texture.

After using it twice a day for two weeks, I saw a reduction in redness and my stubborn acne scars started to fade. It doesn’t sting my sensitive skin at all, plays nicely with other products in my routine, and controls sebum production too – a real winner in my book.

If you’re particularly sensitive to niacinamide like I am, I highly recommend you try this serum from Geek & Gorgeous. I’ve since re-upped on this serum and tried other products from the Hungarian brand. I can see why reviewers claim that this brand is better than The Ordinary!” – Jade, Senior Writer.

Geek & Gorgeous 101 aPAD is available on Geek & Gorgeous for approximately S$16.22 (€10.50).

Commonlabs Vitamin B5 Moisture Ampoule

Credit: commonlabs_singapore on Instagram

“A good hyaluronic acid (HA) serum is hard to come by – the ones I tried were usually very sticky for some strange reason and they take a while to fully absorb. This one has a cocktail HA, vitamin B5 (panthenol), trehalose, and honey and my skin just laps it up without any stickiness or greasiness!

It was so good for both day and night that I finished the bottle in less than a month. I also recommended it to my sister who has combination-oily skin and she loves it too.

It’s a highly concentrated ampoule that instantly moisturises dehydrated skin and prevents moisture loss. It strengthens the skin barrier to keep skin soft and resilient, and reduces sebum while maintaining skin’s moisture balance. I use it in the AM and PM after toner and before moisturiser. Makeup artist Larry Yeo first recommended it to me and I decided to give it a try to fix the dryness on my cheeks.” – Lynnett, Senior Writer.

Commonlabs Vitamin B5 Moisture Ampoule (18ml) is available Ksisters for S$29, but is currently sold out. Sign up for an email notification when it restocks!

By ECom Pure Calming Soothing Gel Cream

“It provides an instant hydrating and soothing effect without [feeling sticky], and in fact leaves a slightly cooling effect on the skin because of the centella asiatica. It provided sufficient hydration without causing any irritation to my sensitive skin.

Depending on how much hydration your skin needs, you can also apply more [and use it] as a sleeping mask. [It won’t leave] your skin feeling too tacky or overwhelmed.” – Melissa, Senior Campaign Executive.

This transparent gel has the effects of a cream moisturiser, which makes it truly unique. It also comes in a large pump bottle that holds a generous amount of product, so you won’t run out fast.

This product has an instant calming effect and is perfect for irritated or red skin. Recommended for sensitive and dehydrated skin, the product absorbs easily and is perfect for pre-makeup application as well.

“My go-to sunscreens are always [from] Bioré Perfect Milk [range] – either Perfect Block Milk or Perfect Face Milk. My favourite thing about the product is how it dries into a powdery, matte finish.” – Natalie, Writer.

This sunscreen is recommended for those who are searching for an affordable waterproof and sweatproof sunscreen that isn’t greasy or sticky. It’s practically the perfect sunscreen since it is also suitable for all skin types. The product contains rice germ extract, which makes your skin softer, while vitamin E helps to protect and repair your skin.

“The thing I love most about Estée Lauder’s Double Wear Foundation is that I had acne when I first used it, and not once did I break out from it, which is quite a feat for me after having tried many different foundations. It is definitely an essential [in] my makeup collection.” – Elizabeth, Campaign Team.

IGK ANTISOCIAL Overnight Bond-Building Dry Hair Mask

Credit: igkhair on Instagram

“I like that it’s a hair mask minus the fuss – I literally just spray it onto clean hair at night after blow-drying and I’d wake up with the softest, most lustrous hair without any tangle. It’s almost as if I’d gone for a salon blow dry in my sleep, no joke.

I recently bleached my hair for a dye job and Antisocial has been good to my extra-processed locks too. Still gets the job done and it doesn’t affect my hair colour at all.

It’s a time-release mask that’s designed to repair and soften your hair without residue. I use it on clean, fresh hair that’s fully blow-dried, and I spray it from the mid-lengths to the hair ends. Then, I comb it through my hair to make sure every strand gets a bit of the mask – it’s okay for the mask to touch your scalp too.” –  Lynnett, Senior Writer.

With such high praise spoken about this dry treatment, how can you not give it a try? The leave-in bond-building technology works to repair and strengthen your hair as you slumber peacefully. It also doesn’t affect coloured hair, so spray away and wake up to luscious locks.

IGK ANTISOCIAL Overnight Bond-Building Dry Hair Mask (117ml) is available on Sephora for S$52.
