This is probably what makes Estee Lauder’s new fragrance, Modern Muse, such an easy scent to connect with. Composed with an innovative “dual-impression” structure, the fragrance carries two contrasting qualities: a sparkling accord that’s feminine and youthful meets a sleek note that is sensual and strong.
The sparkling layer is formulated with Exotic Mandarin, Honeysuckle Nectar, Dewy Petals, Jasmine Sambac China Absolute (a new note to the perfumery palette), Tuberose Fleur and Fresh Lily. This fresh floral note is contrasted with the sleek accords of Madagascar Vanilla (less sweet than regular vanilla scent), Amber Wood and Musk.
Do We Like It?
I really like the luxurious and sleek bottle that carries the potion. In blush pink, it has a soft and graceful touch to it, while the structured navy bow atop the bottle gives it a sense of sophistication. There’s no cap to this fragrance – simply press the bow to dispense the fragrance – and this makes the fragrance easier to use.
The fragrance is a crowd-pleaser that can be easily worn to any occasion. While it may at first not leave a deep impression, it really grows on you after a while. This is a fragrance that goes perfectly with a power suit, as it would, a sun dress. I love how feminine it makes me feel, and how it is an instant mood-booster.
Modern Muse is available at all Estee Lauder counters and the Estee Lauder store at ION Orchard from September 2014. It retails at SGD88 (30ml), SGD130 (50ml), SGD192 (100ml). A body lotion (SGD80) and shower gel (SGD80) are also available.
