We’ve always advocated the application of bold colours to quickly glam up any look. But if you’re looking for a subtle (“hey, did you do anything different today?”) kind of effect, change up your blusher. Different coloured blusher gives a different effect. A pink shade gives you a healthy flush, a plum one makes you look more sophisticated, while a coral one offers a holiday glow. And on the topic of blusher, we’re currently in love with the Lancome Blush Subtil, which promises a second skin effect, with a natural and long-lasting finish of buildable intensity.
Note: These are samples from Lancôme and not how the actual product is like. The actual product comes in a black compact with a brush.
With six shades ranging from beige and rose to corails and prunes (we received five of the samples), the Lancome Blush Subtil offers a silky, creamy and smooth application. Thanks to its special combination of talc and oil, it is also long-lasting.
Does it work?
I love that the colours look fresh and natural on the skin, and that its intensity is highly-buildable. This means that I can go for a more subtle look in the day, and then pile on more in the evening for a slightly more dramatic effect. The long-lasting finish also doesn’t give way to oxidation. The colour remains true to what I’ve applied right at the start, even at the end of the day. When applying it, I like to first brush on lightly with a brush, and then use my fingers to swipe along the cheeks. I find that the warmth from my fingers make the texture more creamy, and gives it a more natural sheen. I also like that it’s subtly scented, making the user experience even sweeter.
How does it look?
My favourite has to be the 030 Éclat de Corail. I like how it’s flattering on my skin and makes me look more energetic. Its versatile colour is also great for almost any occasion and makeup. I foresee this will be come a staple in my makeup stash.
The Lancôme Blush Subtil retails at SGD60, and is available at all Lancôme counters.
