Let’s face it – most of us can’t be bothered to check what ingredients are present in the products we put on our face. Yes, the product may work wonders for our skin. But is it MADE out of good ingredients? Thankfully, there are skincare and makeup lines that are moving towards creating products that are not just good for the skin, but made with good products for the skin. One of which, is bSoul.

Writer’s Skin Type

  • Normal to dry skin.
  • Gets oily on the T-zone as the day progresses, but nothing too excessive
  • Gets random zits that decide to take residence on the skin for about three to four days

Out of the whole range of skincare products, I tried out four of them, and here are my thoughts.

1. Hydra-Comfort Face Cream (Moisturiser)

It’s thick in consistency, and does an amazing job at moisturising the face. My skin felt hydrated throughout the day. You don’t need much product to apply it on the entire face. Due to its consistency, it does feel slightly heavy to use it during the day. If you have oily skin, I suggest using this at night only instead. The product also comes in a jar, which means that you should have clean hands before you dip your fingers into the jar to get the product out!

2. Hydra-Milk Cleanser

The first thing I noticed about this product was that… It came with a pump! Pumps are great as it maintains the hygiene levels and it helps you control how much product you want to use.

Upon reading the instructions at the back of the bottle and on their website, I was really excited to try this. Face cleansing balms, and oils are really hot in the beauty community lately. All you have to do is slather the product on your face, massage it in and wait for it to break down all your makeup.

Unfortunately, the face milk cleanser didn’t entirely do that. It removed some of my makeup, but not all of it. Even after I cleansed my face with a face wash, I felt like it still wasn’t clean enough! However, I think that for it to work in removing all traces of makeup off the face, it would be best to pump some milk cleanser into a cotton pad, and wipe the makeup off instead.

3. Hydra-Face Scrub 3Action

If your skin is incredibly sensitive to very coarse or harsh facial scrubs, read on. I might have just tried the gentlest face scrub that might just be right up your alley. The bSoul face scrub is so gentle that it didn’t feel like a scrub to me at all!

Usually when it comes to face scrubs, we are all told to do it two to three times a week, as we don’t want to end up over exfoliating the skin (Read: All You Need To Know About Exfoliating). However, the exfoliating beads in the bSoul face scrub are so small and fine that I think it can be used more than four times a week. You can definitely feel that your skin is much smoother after using the face scrub.

4. Redness Sinergy Face and Neck Serum

I put this product to the test when I had a zit on my face that was about to emerge. It was all red and ready to show itself to the world so I applied the serum in the morning before I put on my moisturiser. When I got back home that evening, the redness of the zit significantly reduced! It looked calmer and not fiery red like it did earlier in the morning.

I tried it a couple more times on more uninvited zits that came, and the serum seemed to reduce the redness easily!

What we love

  • Environmentally-friendly
  • Natural ingredients used
  • Vegan-friendly (No testing on animals!)
  • Gentle on the skin
  • Safe for sensitive skin

My favourite product out of the four is the redness reducing serum because it gave such amazing results in a short period of time! It’ll be a great skin care line for those who are passionate about vegan, all-natural and environmentally friendly products.

What we don’t love

Due to the nature of the product (pun intended), each product has a different scent that’s very “natural” smelling. It’s not a “universal” scent that many people will like.
