Think Balmain and images that come to mind are tough miltary-inspired jackets, outfits with dramatic shoulders, and couture that exudes rock glamour. The new Ivoire aspires to capture the spirit of the Balmain couture. An update from the original Ivoire, the new Ivoire retains the original concept such that loyal fans will still find it familiar, but new and younger users will love that it has a modern twist.

Balmain Ivoire Edp

The top notes feature orange and mandarin essence powdered with violet leaves, which develops into a bouquet of jasmine, rose, ylang-ylang  and galbanum. Finally, the perfume rounds into a delicate vanilla.

It was love at first sniff for me. I like that the scent has character – it is very distinctive – and gives me the feeling of glamour and power. I can imagine wearing this to evening parties and red carpet events. Only gripe – while this is an EDP, the scent isn’t the kind that lingers on forever. In fact an hour or two after spraying it generously on myself, I can barely smell it anymore. This means retouching may be essential if you want to keep having a clear smell of it.

The EDP is available in three sizes – 100ml ($154), 50ml ($108) and 30ml ($79).
