A pair of moisturised lips covered in rich, velvety colour adds a definitive flair to any look. I’ve always loved how models seem to carry off strong colours in magazines and fashion shows but am quite cautious to put on a bold lip colour. Somehow I would become incredibly self-conscious and get the feeling that the lipstick is wearing me, and not the other way round. Inevitably, I’ll end up wiping off the lipstick after stepping into the office…
With its light coral, pinkish hue, Collection Cream Puff Moisturising Lip Cream looks subdue but it neatly fills the gap between the richness of a lipstick and the subtle radiance of a lip gloss. If you’ve ever tried a vibrant red or fuchsia lipstick or any other bold lippie, you may have noticed how the colour tends to stain your lips even after wiping it off with a tissue. The good thing about this product is that although the punchy colour gives your look oomph, it wipes off cleanly without leaving a trace, and more importantly, without drying out your lips.
What I’ve noticed also is that even on days when my lips are drier than usual, the colour always glides on easily and even seem to smooth out the dry skin. The highly wearable and versatile cherry shade adds a pop of brilliance to any outfit I’ve worn, without me coming off as trying too hard, or plain “wrong” which can be the case with some daring lip colours.
Wearing Collection’s lip cream feels a little like protecting the delicate skin on my lips with hydration and comfort but way sexier than say, lip balm. The moisturising and vitamin-rich formula completes your look with a soft, powdery finish. One slight drawback is that you may need to reapply regularly after having meals, but that’s a small price to pay for keeping your lips feeling and looking good throughout the day.
