Just a few months ago, Estetica celebrated its 33rd Anniversary with the launch of its in-house skincare brand, ést.lab, short for Estetica Laboratories. One of the four products that were released is the SunShield SPF50, a tinted sunscreen with UV protection of – you guessed it – SPF50.
I’ve lost count of how many times I thought about the germs that were introduced into my tubs of cosmetic products whenever I open them. The ést.lab SPF50 comes with a pump which is great, since it dispenses the cream cleanly and effectively without compromising hygiene.
Does the ést.lab SPF50 work?
The ést.lab SPF50 prides itself on its targeted and solution-specific formula that makes use of an advanced UV protection system. What’s even better is that it uses non-comodegenic oils that are also light enough to be suitable for everyday use before you apply your makeup.
Although the tinted sunscreen can be used as a makeup base to conceal and provide sheer coverage, I think that the coverage is simply not sufficient. The dispensed cream was a light off-white colour, which left me doubtful as to whether it could really conceal anything. True enough, I could still see my blemishes clearly, so I would advise others to avoid throwing out their concealers in favour of this tinted sunscreen – unless you don’t have much blemishes to cover up and all you need is a light tint to give you a more even-looking complexion
That said, the ést.lab SPF50 has an appropriately light consistency that doesn’t leave your face feeling sticky or wet – a great point because it encourages you to use it faithfully. Though the dispensed cream is off-white, it doesn’t leave any visible residue after applying so it’s great for ladies on the go since you can probably apply it without checking the mirror.
