What do you think is the most important step in your skincare regime?

Is it the expensive serum you have invested in? Or the pampering mask that you apply weekly?

Guess what – having a clean skin is the most important step in our skincare ritual. It is also the first step of our regime that forms the basics of good skin. Cleaning your skin properly to make sure that it is free from impurities will allow skin care products to absorb better.

Most beauty junkies must have heard of the Clarisonic device as a cleansing tool. Now, fans can look forward to the brand new Clarisonic Aria, which promises to cleanse six times better than cleansing with our hands alone. This makes it a clear winner, hands down! (Pun intended)

If you already love the Clarisonic Mia and Mia 2, the new Aria is likely to gain your favour. Compared to these older versions, Aria has more speed customisations: delicate, universal, powerful, to cater to different preferences and needs.

But what probably made me like it even more is that the new Aria comes with a drying stand, and a USB-enabled pLink charger, which conveniently attaches to the Aria handle magnetically. Rechargeable battery life is also longer – at 30 minutes instead of the usual 20 minutes.

Review: Does Clarisonic Aria Work?

I was at first worried whether the device would be too harsh on my skin. However, it turns out to be very gentle, and what makes it more impressive is how it can effectively loosen sebum and dirt from my pores – something I can probably never achieve if I cleansed with my hands.

The usage isn’t complicated too. Clarisonic works somewhat like an electric toothbrush. First, wet your skin and the brush head with warm water. Apply cleanser to your skin or to the brush head. Next, push the on/off button to turn on your Clarisonic Aria. The T-Timer prompts while you gently moving the brush head in small circular motions. It is waterproof and therefore, it is perfectly fine if you want to use it in the shower. Each cleanse takes only 60 seconds.

Overall, in just one week, my skin feels much cleaner, with a visibly more radiant complexion. I see less visible blackheads and my skin feels smoother than before. What’s more interesting is that, I’ve received comments from others about whether I am wearing BB cream, when I’m not – clearly a sign that my complexion is improving.

Clarisonic Aria retails at SGD270 and is available from April at Sephora stores, Tangs Orchard and Biotherm Homme store (ION Orchard). The Clarisonic Mia retails at SGD180 and the Mia 2 at SGD220.

Clarisonic has also since released new models, including the Mia Smart and Mia Prima. Check your nearest Clarisonic retailer to find out more details.
