The new Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation – that’s what!
We love the gorgeous packaging
Open up the reflective bronze box and you’ll be greeted by a purple pouch that hugs the reflective bronze compact case snugly. While it may sound superficial, part of the joy in using this product is definitely in holding an eye candy.
Does the Urban Decay Naked Skin Powder Foundation work?
When it comes to the real test, this product stood up well too. Its micro-milled powders give it a dense, creamy texture, offering great coverage, but at the same time, feel weightless on the skin. It is incredibly comfortable to wear.
I’d say that you should probably choose a shade lighter than what you see on the cake, because the formula turns out slightly darker when I apply it. I’m wearing Medium Light Neutral.
Another great thing about it is that you can use it both wet and dry: wet, if you prefer a dewy finish, and dry, if you prefer a matte finish. This foundation offers the most coverage when used wet. The compact is equipped with a double-sided sponge: the cushion side (with the UD logo) is meant for wetting, whereas the velvety side is designed for buffing and blending.
Take note, however, that you should make sure the sponge is sufficiently wet, otherwise, what will happen is that the wet and dry formula will mix with each other and you’ll end up with streaks like this:
Thankfully, though, it’s not hard to get rid of them. Just blend them out with a bit of water.
Also, I realise that with the matte finish, it doesn’t go well with cream blusher. The cream formula simply becomes a cakey mess. It goes beautifully with powder blusher, however.
Its double duty makes it a great product for travelling. If you want to forgo your usual liquid foundation when you jet-set to avoid spillage, this will make a great alternative.
I also find that it works well as a touch-up product if you simply want to set your makeup after a long day. This formula lasts well into at least eight hours.
The Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation retails at SGD53 and is available at Sephora.
