We’ve previously done an article on weird blush shades that would look good. But seeing is believing, so we decided to take it a step further and try it out for ourselves to prove to you that the strange blush shades are in fact, very wearable and they’ll look really good!
1 . Bright purple blush
The product: Urban Decay Afterglow 8 hour blush in Bittersweet
From the pan it looks horrific. But when applied to the cheeks, it appears bright, but nothing too crazy. You can even go monochromatic by matching your blush to your lip colour, like what our writer did here. The Urban Decay Afterglow Blush retails at SGD39 from Sephora or their standalone stores at #01-13, VivoCity and #01-16, Bugis Junction.
2. Deep maroon blush
The product: NARS Blush in Dolce Vita
Dark maroon blush scares a lot of people away because of its intensity. But ta-dah! It doesn’t look bad at all. It appears to look like a dark, dusty rose shade that would look great matched with a dark burgundy lip colour. This retails at SGD50 from Sephora ION and Sephora Ngee Ann City, or at NARS counters in TANGS Orchard and Robinsons Heeren.
3. Bright orange blush
The product: Sleek Blush by 3 in Lace
We used the two matte orange shades from this blush trio and while they are bright, when applied carefully it gives the skin a warm and healthy glow. The deep maroon blush gives a similar effect, but due to its darker shade, it gives the skin more of a deep, sun-kissed look. This Sleek blush trio retails at SGD22 from Sephora.sg
4. Bright pink blush
The product: Sleek Blush in Pixie Pink
The bright pink blush makes the skin look fresher and brighter. Add a little bit of highlighter on the highest points of the cheeks and you got yourself a healthy looking glow! This retails at SGD15 from Sephora.sg
So, voila! Weird blush shades don’t look that weird after all. Just apply them with a light hand and slowly build the colour up according to the intensity you desire.
