lash extension

We would appreciate anything that can help us get ready faster in the morning. And usually, beauty mishaps occur on the days we just don’t have the luxury of time to fix our eyebrows or mascara. Thankfully, there are beauty procedures that can be done. Yay! But the thing is… The price point. Other than that, some procedures can take quite a long time to complete.

Here’s a beauty breakdown of the time taken and costs for three beauty procedures- eyebrow embroidery, eyelash extensions and nail extensions – compared to doing them the traditional way.

1. Eyebrow Embroidery vs. Drawing Eyebrows

If you think about it in the long run, you’re paying SGD 1,000 per year for eyebrow embroidery that lasts up to two years. Clearly, drawing your eyebrows with a regular mid-range eyebrow pencil is much cheaper than going for eyebrow embroidery. However, the traditional drawing of eyebrows takes much of your time in a year (48 hours) as compared to eyebrow embroidery (four hours).

Verdict: If you have the money to pay for eyebrow embroidery, go for it. Besides saving time, you also get to keep a shape that is consistent and you love. However, if this doesn’t matter to you, skip it. There are so many affordable eyebrow products to fill in your brows. Keep on practising, so that you’ll be able to get your brows done the same way in two minutes flat!

2. Eyelash Extensions vs. Falsies

Falsies, just like drawing eyebrows didn’t do too well in the “Time Taken” per year factor. Honestly, wearing falsies is definitely cost-effective. With stores like Daiso and online shops like qoo10, you can get a pair of falsies for much, much cheaper than SGD 10. And there are also packs of 20 lashes like these for a bargain-

Verdict: FALSIES! The more you practise, the easier it will get and the faster your application process will be. Besides, eyelash extensions can be quite difficult to maintain because there are certain things you can and cannot do after putting them on. When the extensions fall off, you’d need to get them touched up or live with weird-looking lashes. At least with falsies, if dislike them, just rip ’em off! And you get to choose the styles that you like!

3. Nail Extensions vs. Growing Out Nails

The thing about growing out nails is ensuring that it’s being properly maintained. Clearly, growing your own nails out is free. But we’ve added in a little bit of money that will be spent to maintain your growing nails.

Verdict: We’re on the fence about this! You see, although we’d love to spend money on more makeup (or food), we girls naturally enjoy a good manicure session, right? The pampering experience isn’t just about getting longer nails.

Essentially, the choice to spend the extra money on these beauty procedures is yours. But do your own research and find out as much as you can! You might be allergic to certain things the salons use and when it comes to the eyes especially, it’s very important to make sure you put your safety first.
