Leanne Ho, the hand cream collector
In brands/Category management and an avid Instagram user
Daily Vanity (DV): How did you get started on it? What attracted you to collect hand creams in particular?
Leanne Ho (LH): I’ve always loved lotions. Hand creams usually come in tubes that are girly, small and handy thus easy to fit into a purse. But what really motivated me to use it regularly was when I noticed how TV stars can have really good skin on their faces but when the camera zoomed to their hands, their ages became really obvious.
DV: Are there particular brands you look out for, either online or in local boutiques or retailers?

A part of Leanne’s massive hand cream collection.
LH: I love L’Occitane, Crabtree & Evelyn and my latest craze is Tatcha Indigo hand cream.
DV: What do your friends think of your interest and collection? LH: They are supportive and believe me, most of them are hand cream addicts too!
DV: Do you get a lot of hand cream as gifts as a result?
LH: Occasionally, but not in particular. Though hand creams in general is a safe gift because anyone, any gender, any age will need one.
DV: Which are some of your personal favourites, and why?
LH: Crabtree & Evelyn Gardeners Hand Therapy (the scent could be a hit or miss for some but it’s really creamy); Crabtree & Evelyn Tarocco Orange, Eucalyptus & Sage (refreshing new scent and new packaging); Tatcha Indigo Soothing Silk hand cream (a luxurious moisturizing cream in sky-blue hue with an indescribable scent).
DV: Will there come a point where you feel your collection is too much, and decide to give it all away?

Besides hand cream, Leanne is also passionate about other beauty products.
LH: I don’t think so because I use them daily and often. My rate of hand cream consumption is pretty high!
DV: Could you give our readers 2-3 tips on choosing hand creams as there are just so many options out there?
LH: I like hand creams for different benefits:
- Anti-ageing ones (brands like Davines, Crabtree & Evelyn have them)
- Refreshing ones preferably non sticky (in the day)
- Highly hydrating ones (in the night as a treatment)
