For once, you’d love to open your makeup drawer and smile to see your collection. The fact that it’s sitting nicely, neatly aligned for you to pick and choose what products to use that day. But let’s face it, most of our makeup drawers look like this:

Here are seven makeup organisation tips that can keep the clutter at bay, and make your makeup collection look neat and tidy!

1. Plant Pots as Brush Holders

Use plat pots from Ikea to store your makeup brushes. You could even go a step further and decorate them with ribbons or stickers of your choice to make them look a little cuter.

2. Basket Dividers

You can get these basket dividers from Daiso to organise your makeup. Get your collection organised by having one for lip glosses, one for blushes and one for eyeliners… you get the drift.

3. Lipstick Holders

Lipstick holders will not only help organise your lipsticks, but they’ll also make it easier for you to pick and choose which lipstick you want to use for the day.

4. DIY Lipstick Holders

Acrylic lipstick holders can be quite pricey, especially when you have a bunch of lipsticks! Here’s a cheaper alternative. You can get a box from Daiso, or any box you have lying around the house, and transform it into storage for your lipsticks. Keep the colour description of the lipsticks facing upwards so you’ll be able to choose them easily.

5. Cutlery Trays As Dividers

Cutlery trays aren’t just for the kitchen. Put these in your drawer, instead of basket dividers (see #2), if you prefer it. Just be sure to measure your drawer so that the tray fits.

6. Acrylic Organisers

These acrylic can be found at MUJI. However, it can be pricey if you have a fairly extensive makeup collection.

Another DIY project if you’re feeling artsy! This is great if you are a candle lover, too. Instead of throwing away all the empty candle jars, recycle them and turn them into something useful, like containers to put and organise your makeup on your vanity.
