Heading to the nail salon to get a manicure and pedicure is one way to relax and have some me-time. But it can get quite costly, especially when nail art is involved. With these 17 nail art tutorials, you can just DIY at home!

Tools You Need (Depending on what nail art you want to do)

1. How to properly apply your nail polish
Before we get started with any nail design tutorials, let’s begin with the basics!
2. Half Moon and French Tip
Don’t worry if you don’t have a thin brush, you can just use a dotting tool or a toothpick to slowly create the half moon shape.
3. Angled Accents
Use scotch tape for this and angle it accordingly. Once you’re done with the second colour, wait for it to dry and peel off the tape!
4. Curved Monochrome
Use a dotting tool or a toothpick to create the curved line and carefully fill the space up. Voila! You have yourself chic and stylish nails!
5. Polka dots!
You can never go wrong with polka dots. Choose a base nail polish colour and take a contrasting colour to create the polka dots. You can choose to create polka dots on all your nails, or just an accent nail.
6. Zig Zag Patterns

Place some scotch tape on a dry nail. The placement of the tape depends on what design you’re going for. For this example, it’s placed so that the result is a checkered design.
Here’s another example of how you can use tape to create crisp lines. For this tutorial, use a really thin tape. And be sure to let each layer dry before you start with the next one!
