Formulated by Himalaya, a personal care brand renowned for combining traditional Ayurvedic practices with years of scientific research, the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash is well-loved for its gentle formulation of neem and turmeric that helps tone down skin oiliness while combating acne.

That’s because neem possesses antibacterial and astringent properties while boasting an abundance of antioxidants to fight acne-causing bacteria from its roots to reduce the recurrence of acne. Meanwhile, turmeric is known for its skin-soothing properties, which makes it great for evening out the skin tone, improving skin texture, and just keeping the skin healthy overall.

The best part? Like all other products under the brand, the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash uses only natural ingredients and is not tested on animals. Easy to lather and wash off, it’s definitely a crowd-favourite formula that you’ll gladly splash away as it transforms the skin-cleansing task from an everyday chore to a treat and readies the skin for whatever’s next.

The Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash retails for S$7.95 (100ml) and S$10.95 (150ml) at major pharmacies such as Watsons and Guardian, as well as online at Lazada and Shopee. To learn more about the product or other Himalaya offerings, be sure to follow Himalaya on Facebook and Instagram.

Clarissa, 20

Skin type: Combination-oily
Skin concerns: Dehydrated, textured skin with uneven skin tone, dryness, and visible pores

I’ve had a bad experience with all the previous cleansers that I’ve tried because they worsened my skin so much that it started peeling from dryness, which is why I was pleasantly surprised when I tried the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash.

Aside from clearing up my pimples and managing my skin’s sebum production, I seriously like how this cleanser was able to leave my skin feeling clean and refreshed without much foam.

After using it for about a week, I noticed that even my skin texture has improved tremendously, which is pretty impressive! In fact, I reckon this is the best acne face wash I’ve ever tried and I’m so happy that it’s so compatible for my skin type.

Compared to the previous cleanser I used, I like how the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash is more lightweight in texture and leaves my skin feeling ultra-clean and fresh every time.

After just one week of trying the gel cleanser, it delivered everything that it promised to do and helped turn my skin texture, sebum levels, and skin health for the better without drying out my skin.

Apart from controlling acne effectively, I personally think that it’s a good face wash that’s gentle enough for those with sensitive skin. For me, I’ve been reaping the benefits of switching to this cleanser every since – my skin now doesn’t get as oily during the day and I’m also beginning to see a better overall complexion after three weeks.

Divya, 24

Skin type: Combination-oily
Skin concerns: Textured skin with uneven skin tone and adult acne

With the gel-like Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash, I love its pleasant aroma and the squeaky clean after-feel that it leaves on my skin post-cleansing. Unfortunately, it didn’t do anything at all for my combination-oily skin. The drier areas on the lower half of my face felt even drier and it didn’t seem to prevent acne breakouts as well.

Overall, I would say that the Himalaya formula is probably better for those with extremely oily skin that have little to no zits. For now, I’ll stick to my previous cleanser which is strong enough to take down stubborn pimples and bumps without drying out my skin in the process.

Clara, 23

Skin type: Combination-oily
Skin concerns: Textured skin with visible pores, adult acne, and blackheads

Despite being a face wash for oily skin, I was thoroughly impressed by how lightweight and moisturising the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash felt!

My skin felt softer and smoother after using the cleanser, which was something I’ve never experienced with other similar face washes as they’d usually leave me with a dry and taut after-feel.

In addition, I find that the gel-like cleanser has also helped make my pores less visible after using it for a few times. I’m definitely repurchasing this so that I can continue using it as a core product in my routine.

Albee, 20

Skin type: Combination-dry, acne-prone
Skin concerns: Textured skin with dryness and blackheads

While my previous cleanser was effective, the results really only lasted for about a month or so which is such a bummer, to say the least. After trialling the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash, I have to say that my impression on cleansers for acne-prone skin has changed simply because of its instant effectiveness that seems to last.

Not only did I not experience any irritation from the product, it’s also helped take care of the bad breakout that had already plagued my skin prior to the trial while also cleaning out my pores effectively. For three weeks, I noticed that the acne on my skin gradually reduced day after day and my overall skin health has taken a turn for the better too.

I’m pleasantly surprised that the cleanser has worked very well for my skin type without drying out my skin at all and I’m definitely recommending it to my friends and family who are dealing with acne and oily skin.

Lightweight, easy to wash off, and fuss-free to use, there are just so many things to love about the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash. The fact that it’s helped improve my skin texture, softness, and sebum levels is also enough for me to award it extra brownie points too.

Although I still feel that my previous hydrating cleanser is more suitable for my skin, I personally think that this green-coloured cleansing gel is certainly a great product to have if you’re not looking for a specific facial cleanser.

Pei Ying, 24

Skin type: Combination-oily
Skin concerns: Blackheads and adult acne

As my previous cleanser was too mild for my liking and wasn’t exactly the kind that clears up acne, I’ve been on the lookout for an acne face wash that can keep my pimples under control and prevent it from reoccurring without drying out my skin. It’d be even better if the cleanser contains natural ingredients and has the ability to soothe my skin.

After trying the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash for three weeks, I think I may have just found my ideal acne face wash. The gel-like cleanser delivered everything that it promised, from minimising breakouts and refreshing the skin to keeping acne at bay without stripping my skin dry.

In just a few days of using it, I’d already noticed improvements in skin softness, texture, and overall skin health – even my skin’s sebum production appeared regulated as well! Overall, I enjoyed my experience of using the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash in my daily skincare routine and I definitely think it’s one of the more effective skincare products that does its job well.

Luna, 24

Skin type: Oily
Skin concerns: Dehydrated, textured skin with visible pores. blackheads, and adult acne

What I really love about the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash is its lightweight, easy-to-wash texture that leaves my skin feeling refreshed after cleansing. I also appreciate that I did not experience any irritation from trialling the product for three weeks.

However, I didn’t find the gentle formula effective in keeping my skin’s sebum production under control or preventing the redness and swelling that comes with acne formation, which is a shame as I wanted to like the cleanser so much.

Shuqing, 31

Skin type: Combination-oily
Skin concerns: Dull, textured skin with uneven skin tone, visible pores, adult acne, and blackheads

Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash Shuqing Before After

The cleanser I used prior to the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash was just mediocre, so you can imagine my joy after finding a facial cleanser that works.

I like how the green-toned cleansing gel washes off easily and left no unwanted residue on my skin, which is a huge plus point for me. While it didn’t do anything for me in terms of controlling my skin’s sebum production, I did experience softer and more refined skin texture with this product.

Overall, I had a pleasant experience trying the product and did not have much trouble incorporating it into my existing skincare routine. The affordable price point is a major plus too!

Elise, 29

Skin type: Combination-dry
Skin concerns: Dehydrated, textured skin with visible pores, adult acne, and blackheads

I really like how the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash makes a great cleanser for my combination skin, as it effectively helped reduce pimples without leaving my skin dry as Sahara desert. The gentle, lightweight formula also left my skin feeling refreshingly clean every time, which I appreciate after a long day.

In 21 days, my skin health has improved and even my skin texture has become smoother after using the product. In fact, I felt my skin become softer right after the first wash!

Not only did this product work very well for my skin type, it’s also worked better for me than other cleansers that I have used previously. I truly did not expect how much I would come to enjoy using it, and I don’t see a reason not to continue using this as my regular face wash.

Jacqueline, 29

Skin type: Combination-dry, sensitive
Skin concerns: Dehydrated skin with visible pores, adult acne, and blackheads

I’ve been using a sensitive skin-friendly face wash as it calms my skin and doesn’t leave it feeling dry or taut after cleansing, but as expected, it couldn’t help me with my adult acne.

With the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash, I’m relieved that I finally found a cleanser that can help me manage my adult acne without drying out my skin. In fact, it’s done a great job at keeping my skin soft and clean after each wash without triggering any redness or tightness.

Additionally, I like that the formula’s consistency was gel-like yet remains lightweight and is easily washed off. The only gripe I have with the cleanser is the scent, which I felt was too strong for my liking.

Nevertheless, this green-coloured cleansing gel gave me an impression good enough to consider re-purchasing and I can see why it’s so popular among those with oily, acne-prone skin. Plus, it’s just difficult to give this a miss when it comes with such a wallet-friendly price tag.

Shuning, 28

Skin type: Combination-oily
Skin concerns: Dull skin with uneven skin tone, visible pores, and blackheads

Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash Shuning Before After

I haven’t had much luck with cleansers for my skin type, as the ones that I used prior to trialling the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash caused more acne breakouts on my skin than clearing them.

Himalaya’s green-coloured cleansing gel, however, was just a dream to use and when I used it for the first time, my skin instantly felt softer, more refreshed, and clean without any tightness, which was exactly what I was hoping the cleanser would do.

I really like how the product washes off easily, and cleans out my pores effectively. In fact, I personally find that the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash also helps even out my skin tone to a certain extent!

After the first use, my skin’s sebum levels seemed to have decreased while it took only a few days for me to see improvements in skin texture, softness, and acne control – impressive! After 21 days, I’m delighted to see a boost in my overall skin health and my skin feels not as oily during the day too.

I really like this product and I will purchase it again after I’ve used it up! I’d also be highly recommending it to my friends and family who are dealing with skin oiliness and breakouts.

Joelyn, 30

Skin type: Combination-oily
Skin concerns: Textured skin with uneven skin tone, visible pores, and blackheads

Prior to trying the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash, I was using a mild sensitive skin-friendly cleanser that works fine for my skin but didn’t help much when I have a pimple or two to clear.

With the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash, I like how it’s so simple and user-friendly – this lightweight cleansing formula washes off really easily and leaves my skin feeling refreshed after rinsing every time.

After trialling it for three weeks, I’ve seen improvements in the acne on my face as well as my skin’s sebum levels. I’m pleasantly surprised that it worked really well for my skin type too, as I didn’t experience any irritation from this product at all and my skin even feels less oily throughout the day.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Some cleansers may be overly drying for certain skin types but this cleansing gel is formulated well enough even for combination skin to use.

While I do not have oily skin, I do have to deal with acne regularly and the thing that bothers me most with face washes that I have tried in the past is their inability to clear the acne breakouts on my face. Some of them are also very drying too, but I didn’t encounter any of these issues with the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash.

Within 10 days of using the gel-like cleanser, I saw a significant change in my skin’s sebum levels and the appearance of pimples. Not only did it make my skin feel softer, it also helped my skin look brighter too. Overall, I’m glad that I’d been introduced to this face wash as it has worked really well for my skin type and I didn’t experience any irritation or any over-drying side effects from this product at all.

Kelly, 28
Skin type: Normal, sensitive
Skin concerns: Dull skin with uneven skin tone, visible pores, and blackheads

Although the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash is lightweight, I unfortunately didn’t have a good experience using it at all as my skin felt dry and tight after switching to the gel-like cleanser.

While the cleanser lathers well, washes off easily, and leaves no residue on my skin, my skin unfortunately didn’t feel soft or smooth after trying it for three weeks. However, I must say that I noticed it managed to dry up the acne on my skin after two to three washes.

I reckon this may work better for those with serious acne issues. As for me, I find it a little too harsh for daily use but I feel it’s a good oily skin cleanser to have on standby for days when I have serious breakouts to deal with.

Melissa, 30
Skin type: Combination-oily
Skin concerns: Blackheads and adult acne

Having used the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash twice a day for three weeks, I’m glad that I found a cleanser that’s more effective than the previous one that I was using. Not only did it do a great job at deep cleansing my pores and ridding my skin of dirt and oil, it also left my complexion glowing after every wash.

My skin has been improving ever since I started using the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash, and I’ve not encountered any side effects so far. It also comes with a super affordable price tag – what’s not to like?

Leona, 28

Skin type: Combination-oily, sensitive
Skin concerns: Dull, dehydrated, and textured skin with uneven skin tone, dryness, adult acne as well as visible pores and blackheads

Acne-prone skin sufferers are all too familiar with over-drying facial cleansers that are just too harsh for the skin, which is why I’ve been looking out for one that doesn’t dry out my skin but still does a great job at reducing acne and keeping my skin calm. It’d be even better if the face wash contains natural ingredients and comes with an affordable price tag.

Having tried the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash for three weeks, I’m glad that it ticks all the boxes for me and I’ve even experienced its effectiveness right from the first wash.

I noticed my skin felt softer after using it for the first time – five days later, I continued to observe positive changes with the breakouts, bumps, and roughness on my skin as well as my skin’s sebum production. In other words, my skin health has gotten significantly better just five days after switching to this gel-like cleanser.

I love how I’m able to see and feel results almost instantaneously, and I can only imagine how good my skin will look with continuous daily use. For now, I can already foresee myself making multiple repurchases solely because of how well my skin loves the fuss-free product.

Pherenice, 26

Skin type: Combination-oily
Skin concerns: Dull skin with blackheads

I’ve been looking for a decent cleanser for oily and acne-prone skin because the previous ones I’ve tried – they’re all well-known for their oily skin face washes, by the way – did very little to clear my acne.

After using the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash twice daily for three weeks, I’m happy to report that I may have found the oily skin cleanser that I’ve been looking for – one that is capable of reducing pimples effectively and refreshing the skin but doesn’t dry it out at all. Not only that, it also helps prime my skin for the subsequent steps of my skincare routine.

In just the first week alone, I noticed that my skin’s sebum level dropped – any bumps and roughness on the skin seemed to have diminished significantly too. My skin now feels smoother and looks clearer, thanks to this cleanser, so I definitely have no qualms re-purchasing it when I’ve finished using my current one.

Previously, the cleanser that I used was effective in controlling my skin’s sebum levels but it didn’t do a very good job at reducing acne. With the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash however, it did what my previous cleanser couldn’t, and more!

Immediately after using the product, my skin feels clean but not taut. I also like how my skin feels softer and smoother after a week. In terms of acne and oil reduction, I noticed a difference after just two to three days of using the gel-like cleanser twice daily.

Overall, it was a great experience. I didn’t have a hard time incorporating the cleanser into my routine and it was an easy product to use even when I’m in a rush in the mornings.

Marianne, 28

Skin type: Normal, sensitive
Skin concerns: Dehydrated skin with uneven skin tone

I used the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash every evening after removing my makeup with a micellar water, and I like that it left my skin feeling as clean as the previous face wash I used. Apart from the very pleasant cooling sensation, I also find that the gel-like cleanser didn’t make my skin feel dry at all.

After just the first wash, I’d already noticed a decrease in my skin’s oiliness and my skin felt softer too! Although I don’t really have any noticeable bumps or skin roughness, the tiny bumps and slight roughness around my nose and below my eyes did look less prominent after two days.

All in all, I like that the Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Wash is so compatible with my skin type and doesn’t irritate my skin despite it being a cleanser for oily, acne-prone skin. I also like the fact that it’s easily accessible at all the pharmacy chain stores and even Shopee, because I definitely plan on re-purchasing the cleanser right after I’m done with this one!
