At a recent Jo Malone press conference in Taiwan, the 39-year-old, who’s opened up before about her not-so-easy pregnancy journey, wowed the crowd in a gilded strapless dress that showed off her slender post-baby figure.

Taking care of the baby herself helps her burn off excess fat
Ariel reveals that she actually gained nearly 10 or 11 kilogrammes during her pregnancy, but she’s managed to lose the pregnancy weight very quickly after giving birth because it’s mostly water.
The new mum further shares that she has another 2kg to shed, and she’d be able to return to her original pre-pregnancy weight.
Her trick isn’t found in the gym, though: Ariel believes that spending time with her newborn is actually what helps her lose weight this quickly.
She says that taking care of a child requires a lot of brainpower, and feels that her body consumes more calories and body fat than exerting force during a workout without even knowing it.
We have to admit it’s all just anecdotal – but hey, if it works for Ariel, we can surely try it out, right?
And a word to all new mums out there: it’s absolutely normal if you’re unable to shed your postpartum weight within a short period of time. Each body works differently, so you shouldn’t put too much pressure on losing weight fast. After all, what matters most is your health.
She tries hard to find a balance between parenting and taking care of herself
Many mothers tend to place a lot of emphasis on getting rid of the pregnancy weight almost instantly after giving birth.
For Ariel, she believes that having the right mentality to tackle this new chapter in her life is more crucial than subjecting yourself to a gruelling regime to bounce back to your former physique.
“The moment I became a mother, I realised I started getting worried about this little human all the time no matter where I am,” she lets on.
“All of a sudden, her needs have become the single most important thing in my life – and my own needs and feelings take a backseat. And before I know it, fatigue starts to creep up on me,” the movie star continues.
To avoid feeling overwhelmed, Ariel focuses on striking a balance between taking care of her newborn and setting aside me-time for herself.
She’s also learning to allow herself to take time off whenever she’s too tired from mummy duty.
She relies on her favourite fragrances to unwind
Speaking of relaxing and taking a breath, Ariel’s favourite way of R&R is to create a healing atmosphere through fragrance.
She discloses that she’s partial to woody notes rather than saccharine sweet scents in the past few years, and is always looking out for calming woody scents with just the right hint of sweet citruses.
She sprays her perfumes on two specific areas only when she wants to feel sexy
