1. Australian top multivitamin brand, Swisse, is in Singapore
You may not have heard of Swisse, but it’s an a multivitamin brand from Australia, that’s been used by athletes including Wimbledon champion Lleyton Hewitt. Finally in Singapore, the brand is a product after founder Kevin Ring, from his passion for well-being and natural medicine, after an inspiring trip to Switzerland.
According to studies, 2 out of 3 Singaporeans have trouble consuming two servings of fruits and two servings of vegetables per day. Swisse’s vitamins can help to supplement this void. Besides vitamins formulated for men (Men’s Ultivite) and women (Women’s Ultivite), Swisse also carries the Ultiboost Hair Skin Nails, Ultiboost Joints and Ultiboost Immune, for better hair, skin and nails, stronger joints and better immune system respectively. The range of products are available at Watsons, Guardian, Unity and Qoo10. Find out more on its website.
2. Bio-Oil gets bigger – now at 200ml!
Known for its ability to improve the appearance of scars and stretch marks, Bio-Oil will be launching its largest size – 200ml – in Singapore, in May 2015. Boasting a loyal following by celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Scarlett Johansson and Gwyneth Paltrow, Bio-Oil is also great for alleviating skin concerns like dehydration. The new 200ml Bio-Oil will retail at SGD35.90 and will be available at all leading pharmacies, department stores and hospitals.
3. d’skin presents solid collagen – instead of liquid – to preserve its stability
Most collagen products in the market are in liquid form, but this isn’t ideal because liquid collagen is more susceptible to damage through heat. This is why the latest addition to d’skin’s skincare collection, Collagen Silk, is packaged in dry, solid form, so it can be stored in the most stable state. These dry collagen should be dissolved with toner or serum (note: they have to be water-based because Collagen Silk is water-soluble) before application. The product helps to stimulate skin cells into regenerating more collagen on its own, and also protect it from environmental damage. d’skin Collagen Silk retails at SGD149 for 15 pieces and is available at all d’skin outlets in Novena, Toa Payoh and Kovan.
4. Dermalogica’s latest trio of products for brightening
Hyper-pigmentation is one of the top skin concerns faced by Asians, and is one of the issues that can’t be easily concealed by makeup. Dermalogica launches a trio of skin brighteners in its new line, which includes the C-12 Pure Bright Serum (a lightweight serum that curbs melanin production at various stages, SGD200), Pure Light SPF50 (a sunscreen that can be used as a day cream, SGD140) and Pure Night (an overnight treatment, SGD155). The products are available at all authorised Dermalogica skin treatment centres – AsterSpring and exclusive Dermalogica salons.
5. Braun introduces new epilator with wider head for greater efficiency
Nobody likes dealing with unwanted hair. But it’s an important part of our beauty regime. This is probably why when it comes to dealing with fuzz, we only want to spend as little time as possible on it. The new Braun Silk-épil 9 is a great DIY solution that offers precise results in a short time.
The new features include a 40% wider head so that more hairs can be captured and removed in one stroke. It also comes with the Micro Grip Tweezer Technology – wider, longer and deeper tweezers that can remove four times shorter hairs than waxing can, offering you smooth skin for up to four weeks.
