From almond caramel milk tea to oolong tea, it seems like tea-inspired lip shades are here to stay. Another case in point? A new hue that’s taking over RED (China’s Instagram), “cinnamon milk tea“.
It’s a little lighter in colour next to the usual milk tea shades, but has a warmer, spicier tone, which makes it ultra-flattering on the lips.
We first spotted MAC Cosmetics’ Lustreglass Sheer-Shine Lipstick in Thanks, It’s MAC (pictured above), a taupe-pink nude with silver pearl. Its gorgeous milk tea-inspired shade sits perfectly in our MLBB (My Lips But Better) lipstick collection, and we’re in love with its glassy, light-reflecting finish too.
The brand’s original Lustre Lipstick was upgraded to deliver the same effortlessly translucent and glossy colour we adore, except it’s now amped up with a luscious combination of nourishing ingredients. A creamy blend of jojoba, raspberry seed, coconut, and organic extra-virgin olive oils moisturise the lips, while shea butter conditions for a soft, supple pout.
Soon after, we saw one more “cinnamon milk tea” shade trending on social media, and it’s none other than the Dior Rouge Dior Couture Finish Refillable Lipstick in #100 Nude Look (pictured above). Smooth and buttery with a pretty pink hue, the Rouge Dior is practically the matte version of MAC’s shade.
This lipstick is enriched with red peony and pomegranate flower extracts, which ensure 16 hours of comfort on the lips. The lippie is a re-release of Rouge Dior, but with a modern twist.
In a move toward sustainability, the case includes a silver trim line that hides the lipstick bullet’s base, which can be twisted up and replaced with a minimally-packaged (and more affordable) refill.
Both lipsticks make lovely additions to our lipstick collections, so which will you pick up?
