Dermalogica has been synonymous with effective products that exclude common irritants such as SD alcohol, lanolin, mineral oil and artificial colours and fragrances. After almost three decades of skincare formulation, the brand has launched its first-ever chemical peel – BioSurface Peel.

This four-step treatment is formulated exclusively for use in skincare centres and spa, and is targeted at eliminating the appearance of fine lines, hyperpigmentation, breakouts and skin roughness. This powerful exfoliant system is suitable even for those with sensitive skin.

The BioSurface Peel uses products in the new Professional Expert Strength line, a range of professional products that are only available to this chemical peel treatment, and can only be administered by certified skin therapists.

Four-Step Treatment For Great Results Without Downtime

Step 1: Active ingredients including the Salicylic Acid helps dissolve and remove the excess sebum and dead skin cells that lays on top of skin. This helps prepare the skin for the peel.

Step 2: Powerful plant-based enzymes from Pumpkin Fruit Ferment and Moth Bean Seed Extract unlink the skin cells and help digest skin protein so that active ingredients can be penetrated into skin later. Cell turnover and collagen synthesis are triggered so that skin looks plumper and healthier.

Step 3: Salicylic Acid is used again, together with Lactic Acid, Phytic Acid and Sugar Cane Extract to maximise skin exfoliation. Together, they visually brighten areas of hyperpigmentation, and at the same time remove impaction plugs in follicles (this can help prevent breakouts and reduce the roughness of skin). Cell turnover is also triggered so skin looks radiant.

Step 4: Finally, skin-soothing botanicals are used so that the activity of the acids from previous steps is slowed down, and skin is calmed and comforted, kick-starting the process of skin repair.

After the treatment, skin is supposed to look like it’s healthy and glowing, and feels firm and supple. Very importantly, there is no recovery downtime involved for this treatment.
