Dyson Supersonic 23.5 Karat Gold Hair Dryer

Haven’t picked up the Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer yet? Well, you can get yours this Black Friday (23rd November) in 23.75 karat GOLD instead. Nope, we don’t just mean gold-coloured – but one that is made of actual GOLD. This is actually done through a grueling, age-old process called gold leafing.

First of all – how awesome does that shade of navy blue look against gold? It’ll fit it nicely on your vanity, we bet!

But let’s get back to the gold leafing business: what is it? Well, it is basically a highly skilled trade that has never made it into mass production so far. The craft is based on the traditional method of gliding, which is something that requires a TON of precision. First, a red gesso would be applied on the loop of the hair dryer before the gold leaf is layered on top of it, and all of this is done by hand.

Gold is also one of the most resilient materials in the world, and has been used in many classic designs, sculpture, and architecture for centuries – and what better way to celebrate Dyson’s awesome new product than by making it of literal gold, a mineral that has been so well-loved through the centuries?

The Dyson Supersonic™ 23.75 karat gold hair dryer is now available for pre-order in Singapore on shop.dyson.com.sg and will retail at SGD799.

It will be launched and available for purchase on Black Friday, 23rd November 2018 via shop.dyson.com.sg.
