We know there are drugstore brands that work fabulously, and we love to indulge in good quality products from more luxurious brands too. But some beauty products are so luxe and pricey that they make our jaw drop.

But just in case you’re feeling spendy on a makeup shopping day, at least you’d have a point of reference on what you should or shouldn’t spend your money on!

1. Guerlain L’Or Radiance Concentrate with Pure Gold (SGD105)
They were not kidding when they mentioned that this product contains pure gold. It contains 24k pure gold flakes to be exact. This primer is great at allowing smooth application of foundation and it also has lifting and firming properties. An instant facelift- why not! Popular YouTuber, Tati of GlamLifeGuru, reviewed this primer. Check out her video to see the instant effects of it!
Guerlain is available at TANGS Orchard and Sephora.
2. Cle de Peau Beauté Concealer (SGD116)
This concealer is a cult favourite in the beauty community for being pigmented, blendable and long lasting. Musings of a Muse, a popular makeup blogger, reviewed the product and mentions how she thinks it’s overhyped, but ironically, it’s a product she has repurchased three times! That goes to show that this stuff works wonders even with the hefty price tag.
Cle de Peau is available at TANGS Orchard and Takashimaya D.S.
3. La Prairie Skin Caviar Concealer Foundation (SGD328)
La Prairie is well known for their expensive skincare range, and now they’ve fused in a little bit of their skincare into a foundation. The catch is that, this foundation costs SGD328! It also comes with a concealer located at the top of the lid of the bottle. It claims to be a high coverage foundation that has a natural finish and it helps to firm up the skin as well.
Beauty vloggers who have reviewed this product were pretty impressed with it because it looks good even after ten hours of wear!
Here’s a review by Chloe Morello:
La Prairie counters are located at TANGS Orchard, Robinsons Heeren, Takashimaya, and Metro Paragon.
4. Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer (SGD71)
SGD70 for such a small pot?! This highly concentrated and pigmented concealer claims to be able to cover all imperfections with minimal product. Other than that, it’s loved by many because it’s an all-purpose product that can be used as a concealer, or mixed a moisturiser to make it into a light or high coverage foundation.
Alexandra Costello from Beautylish shares how makeup artists feel that this product has made their jobs easier because they don’t have to carry so many products in their kit anymore. She also shares tips on how to use the product, and you’ll be surprised at what the product in this little jar can do!

5. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder (SGD72)
The Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders may not look you’ve applied much when swatched on the hand. But it’s the effect it has on the skin itself that makes it worth the SGD72. We’ve tried it and noticed that it gives the skin a healthy glow that’s not packed with chunks of glitter. It’s a powder product that makes the skin look radiant and lit from within. Hourglass is available at Sephora.
6. Tom Ford Eye Defining Liquid Liner Pen (SGD82)
Would you drop more than SGD82 on an eyeliner? Well, maybe when you see and read the reviews about this eyeliner, you would seriously consider it!
This eyeliner isn’t just expensive because of its brand, but also because of how pigmented, easy to use and long lasting it is. It’s dual ended – one end has a calligraphy tip, and the other is a brush tip. The former was created to help create thin lines, while the latter helps to create thicker lines. Reviewers on Nordstrom.com had one comment in common, and that was how black and easy it was to use.
Here’s Tati from GlamLifeGuru who reviewed the eyeliner. Watch her reaction!
7. FOREO (SGD299)
FOREO is a face cleansing tool that helps to give the skin a thorough cleaning. Because of its pulse technology, it’s also said to help in anti-ageing. It’s made out of silicone that’s supposed to be free from bacteria and you don’t have to replace anything unless the device itself gets spoilt.
Linda Sharky from Independent recommends it because of how long it lasts on a single charge, that there was a visible difference she sees on her skin. She also loves how hygienic it is and that she doesn’t have to constantly replace it after a few months. This device is available at Sephora.
8. Sunday Riley Luna Oil (SGD152)
This facial oil approximately costs around SGD150 (it’s listed as USD107 on Net-A-Porter) and we are in love with its gorgeous colour! It has been described by those who tried it as “magical” because of the positive overnight effects it has on the skin. Beauty blogger and vlogger, Anna, said that she wakes up with smooth and silky skin. This product is available at Net-A-Porter.
9. Amore Pacific Time Response Skin Renewal Creme (SGD640)
We scoured makeup forum, Makeupalley.com, and found that the only reason why reviewers wouldn’t give this moisturiser a full rating was because of its price. That says a whole lot about the product! Those who have tried it highlighted how it has helped their skin look and feel firmer, and more radiant.
