It’s no secret that bangs can make or break an entire hair look. Some even say that bangs are the secret to slimming the shape of your face.

Depending on the length and curvature of your bangs, they can cover portions of your face, creating an illusion that certain areas look slimmer.

Many of these styles have even been spotted on our favourite K-pop idols like Le Sserafim’s Chaewon, Nmixx’s Haewon, and Aespa’s Karina.

Read on for all the inspiration.

Manga bangs

Manga bangs are great if you’re looking to conceal your forehead and make the overall shape of your face slightly smaller.

They aren’t as heavy as you think they are either. They’re easy to style and maintain without looking too thick and clumpy on the forehead.

It’s also super easy to match these bangs to any hairstyle. Whether you have short straight hair like Le Sserafim’s Chaewon, coloured hair like Aespa’s Ning Ning, or long hair like Red Velvet’s Joy, these bangs pair well with anything for a sweet, angelic look.

Micro bangs

Most of us tend to shy away from micro bangs because of their quirky, slightly extreme appearance.

However, these under-appreciated bangs are perfect if you have a shorter face. With micro bangs that sit above the eyebrow, you’ll balance your face and conceal a little of your forehead.

Because of this balance, you’ll create the illusion that the lower half of your face is slimmer and give your entire look a more youthful appearance.

Eight-figured bangs

Many K-pop idols we know have had eight-figure bangs recently and we can’t blame them for picking a cute style like this.

As it curves outwards at your forehead and inwards at your cheeks, your forehead will be further emphasised so the middle portion of your face appears smaller.

We recommend this style for those of you who style your hair often. You’ll need to curl your hair with a hair roller and blow dry your bangs often to maintain its shape.

If you’re looking to get this bangs style, you might want to give the rest of your hair a curly makeover too. Having soft curls will help enhance the curvature of these bangs and connect the front part of your hair to the back portion.

If you’d prefer something that’ll last longer, consider getting a perm at one of these salons that offer amazing deals!

Soft baby bangs

For those looking to put less emphasis on a wide forehead but have a hairline that’s a little too high for manga bangs, soft baby bangs are the way to go.

These curved bangs are shorter than eight-figured bangs and they have a split in the middle. Your hair won’t look flat or sparse because of its length, so it’s perfect if you’re looking for a style to conceal your forehead a little.

Perilla leaf bangs

This style makes use of stray hairs, reminding us of the perilla leaf we often have during our Korean barbecues.

You can have the same bangs as these K-pop stars just by dividing your long bangs into two portions and sweeping a bigger portion of your bangs to one side. Then, you’ll need to use a bobby pin or a hair clip to pin the bigger portion up.

Let a few stray hairs fall on your face, which will help your entire face appear slimmer.

This style pairs well with those with straight long hair, but just like Kep1er’s Yujin and SNSD’s Yoona, don’t be afraid to tie your hair up in a low ponytail or bun.
