We don’t really enjoy the transition of seasons in Singapore, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get into the mood for Spring. Just like floral prints are so signature to spring fashion, floral scents are integral to the beauty world in Spring. The new fragrance launches recently make us ready to ring in Spring.

Carven Le Parfum

From the sleek bottle, to the crisp scent – the new perfume from Carven is easily Daily Vanity’s pick of the week (probably even month, and maybe quarter). We love how it’s elegant without being pretentious – just like Carven’s fashion. It is luxurious, yet understated. Backed by famous perfumer, Francis┬áKurkdjian (it’s the first time Francis worked with Carven), this fragrance features three main notes: hyacinth that gives a feminine, floral touch; sweet pea to provide that surprising, almost cheeky, note to the perfume; and jasmine, to lend a sense of “fullness” to the fragrance.

We love the campaign surrounding its launch too. Check out the behind-the-scene video:

Like Carven’s fashion, the fragrance is couture without being costly. It retails at SGD77 for 30ml, SGD110 for 50ml and SGD144 for 100ml, available at the Carven boutique located at ION Orchard.

Prada Infusion D’Iris L’eau d’Iris

Prada Infusion D'Iris L'eau d'Iris

The original Prada Infusion d’Iris was launched in 2007. Because of its success, the EDT was launched in 2010, then later, in 2012 the EDP Absolue was born. This year, inspired by Spring flowers, Prada launches the limited edition Infusion d’Iris L’Eau d’Iris in March 2013.

You’ll love this if you like light scents. This fragrance opens with a very green notes of Moroccan mint and Tunisian neroli, then it goes into its heart notes (also the flower that’s at the heart, no pun intended, of this scent) with the fresh fragrance of Iris. Finally, the fragrance develops into a powdery scent, composed by white musk, woods and vanilla.

Crabtree & Evelyn Somerset Meadow

Prada Infusion D'Iris L'eau d'Iris

Think Springtime in England, and the meadows and greenlands of Somerset comes to mind. Inspired by the green pastures and wild flowers in Somerset, Crabtree & Evelyn launches The Somerset Meadow collection. The collection consists of an EDT (SGD58), Bath & Shower Gel (SGD35), Body Lotion (SGD40), Hand Therapy (SGD33), and for the first time, a perfume gel (SGD25). The perfume gel, in particular, is interesting because of how easy it can be used for on-the-go touch ups.

The elegant and refreshing packaging of the entire collection makes it stand out from the other collections in the brand (check out the interesting box of the EDT, that opens up like a flower!). The scent is also airy, fresh, and likely to be pleasant to most people.

Jo Malone Osmanthus Blossom

It’s an interesting association – a London brand with a “Chinese” flower. Jo Malone’s limited edition blossom fragrance this spring features the osmanthus.

Besides the unique choice of the flower, the packaging is also interesting, as it comes with white flowers illustrated on the bottle. For a really decadent layering, pair this with the Blackberry & Bay (it’s Daily Vanity’s personal favourite way of layering). If you’re looking for something elegant and distinctive, this may just be the choice for you. This retails at SGD95 for 30ml and SGD190 for 100ml.
