If you remember Namie Amuro as one of the top singers in your youth, you probably would remember a time when the beauty industry was dominated by Japanese brands. Now that the productswe reach have become more diverse, ranging from Korean and Taiwanese brands to American and European brands, it may seem as though Japanese beauty brands aren’t so much in the limelight as they used to be. But without a doubt, in our minds, we trust Japanese brands for putting in utmost care into product development and are able to deliver products that are suitable for Asian skin types and tones.
Thanks to the opening of department stores like Welcia-BHG and Don Don Donki, we are once again seeing Japanese beauty brands in the spotlight. We have curated a list of Japanese beauty products that have received rave reviews and that you can easily find in Singapore.

6. Senka Perfect Whip
The Japanese prides quality and the beauty of simplicity, this is why luxurious Japanese products don’t always have to come with a huge price tag. The Senka Perfect Whip cleanser embodies this idea. The affordable cleanser is highly sought after, and we’ve heard of people stocking the product up for themselves and their friends when they visit Japan. The gentle facial foam allows you to lather the product into a dense and rich foam to sink your face into, for a gentle but effective cleanse. Formulated with naturally derived silk essence that is taken from silk cocoons (a long-time Japanese beauty secret), the product is able to cleanse thoroughly while protecting your skin’s natural moisture barrier. What this means is that your skin will feel refreshed and hydrated after rinsing off.
Thankfully, you actually don’t have to travel to Japan to get your hands on the Senka Perfect Whip. It retails at SGD7.90 and is available at Watsons, Guardian, Fairprice, SASA, BHG, Welcia-BHG, and Don Don Donki.
