The Vuitton-Gehry legacy continues — and this time into the realm of perfumes.
Earlier this month, the French luxury goods house hosted a dinner at the Foundation Vuitton (fittingly designed by Frank Gehry) in Bois de Boulogne, Paris to unveil their collaboration on a new fragrance line, Les Extraits.

For the uninformed, Frank Gehry is a living legend in the architecture world and is behind some of the world’s most astounding buildings including the iconic Guggenheim Museum Bilbao as well as Vuitton’s very own stores in Paris and Seoul.
The collection includes five fragrances — Cosmic Cloud, Dancing Blossom, Rhapsody, Stellar Times, and Symphony — each one formulated by the house’s master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud and its bottle capped with a three-dimensional silver lid evocative of Gehry’s deconstructivist style.
Frank Gehry and I share the desire to create an imbalance that might become balance, contrast and transversal lines between things that seem incompatible; there’s a desire to innovate without breaking with what has gone before – Jacques Cavallier Belletrud
Each fragrance represents a major olfactive family and is concentrated at 30%.
Cosmic Cloud boasts a powdery and fruity musk aroma with notes of bergamot, patchouli, and blackcurrant; while Dancing Blossom is a floral scent of jasmine sambac, may rose, osmanthus and Indian tuberose.
Rhapsody is a modern chypre perfume with floral notes of jasmine and rose highlighted by fresh yerba maté and lily of the valley; Stellar Times is a deep, woody perfume with a touch of amber and orange blossom; and Symphony features fresh ginger zest with bergamot and grapefruit.
While there’s no word yet on when the Les Extraits Collection will launch in Singapore, it has been confirmed that the line will make its debut overseas on 7 October.
Do keep an eye out on this space, because we’ll definitely update you on its official release date here!
