Do you have a favourite day of the week? It’s Friday for us, for sure. It’s the one day of the week we feel relaxed and filled with anticipation – ready to let our hair down for the weekend. Now, if only we can replicate this delightful spirit every day of the week! Oh wait, we can. Indulging in a pampering facial or hair treatment can definitely give any day a feel-good boost. Here are five to consider!
1. Give your skin a juice cleanse
Fancy a juice cleanse for your skin? Dr. Belter’s latest Shake It! Mask facial treatment works on the skin just like how juice-cleansing work for the body – it detoxifies skin to jump-start its renewal process, so that skin can be rejuvenated. Presented in the form of a powder, these in-salon-only masks are activated when mixed with water, and then shaken to form a peel off mask that purifies skin, and another one becomes a mousse that is massaged into skin, and then rested on the face for further nourishment. The gently scented products used in this treatment are great for dehydrated skin that’s in need of vitamin C and antioxidants.
The Dr. Belter Shake-It! Mask treatment is available at SGD238, at authorised facial salons, including Annabelle Skin (#02-42 The Adelphi), Esthe Beaute House (#02-65 Roxy Square Shopping Centre), Face De Garden (Blk 116, Toa Payoh Lorong 2, #01-150), and Skin Revival Centre (#02-320 Elias Mall).
What the DV editor thought: My skin looked clearer and more hydrated after the treatment. I love the fruity scent of the mask, which help relax me so I can put my fatigue behind me. The treatment may have lasted approximately two hours, but it didn’t feel so long because of how enjoyable it was.
2. Indulge in a trio of pampering treatments
Porcelain’s extensive menu of treatments aren’t new to the facial centre, but they have more recently curated what they call the “Aesthetics Collection”, which features three of their most stellar treatments designed to work synergistically to give you rejuvenating, calming and brightening benefits. Each treatment is recommended to be done a week apart, and it begins with the Proionic Facial for rejuvenation, followed by the Illuminate Facial for removal of impurities, and finally the Sun Rescue Facial to repair and hydrate skin.
The Aesthetics Collection is priced at SGD522.16 (including GST) and consists of the 90-minute Proionic Facial (UP: SGD406.60), 75-minute Illuminate Facial (UP: SGD406.60), and 60-minute Sun Rescue Facial (UP: SGD267.50). The Aesthetics Collection is only available to new clients or those who have never experienced all three treatments before. Porcelain is located at 15 Cantonment Road and #03-13 Orchard Gateway.
What the DV editor thought: I’ve tried all of the treatments and am especially in love with the Illuminate Facial, which isn’t just extremely pampering but gives me an instant glow on my skin, I can’t stop checking out my skin in the mirror. What’s interesting is that the three facials offer different benefits and when done consecutively within three weeks, it’s not hard to imagine how they can help deliver more visible and lasting results.
3. Check out a new medi-aesthetics centre
D’skin opened its newest space – D’skin Prestige, a medi-aesthetics hub at [email protected] Square. Promising non-surgical treatments that deliver “surgical” results, D’skin Prestige offers different treatments for a range of benefits (lifting, toning, acne care, and brightening). The Power V-Shape Facial Treatment, for instance, uses the Venus Swan technology, and promises to lift skin by up to 3cm in just one session.
Look forward to a luxurious interior and medical-grade technologies, technology, and professional therapists who make each two-hour treatment an effective and pleasant one.
D’skin Prestige is located at #03-04/05, [email protected] Square.
What the DV editor thought: It’s interesting that besides high-tech equipment, D’skin also prides themselves with therapists who specialise in extraction. What I mean is that extraction can only be done by therapists who are trained, and they do specifically extraction. These specially-trained therapists are able to do thorough, but painless extraction, without leaving behind any redness or swelling after the session.
4. Step out with soft, deeply hydrated hair
A new in-salon moisture care service by Shiseido Professional, the Aqua Intensive Perfect Repair Treatment is exactly what you need for good hair days – every day. Recommended as a monthly treatment, it features products formulated with the Aqua Mimic Technology and Dual Oil Technology – both of which work to retain moisture in hair, and lock it in, so that you’ll enjoy lasting results.
The three-step treatment begins with the therapist replenishing moisture in your hair with a foam-textured product, then moisture is held inside hair and lost proteins are restored with a milky solution, and finally the moisture is locked in with a cream-textured product.
This treatment will be available from October, at authorised Shiseido Professional salons.
What the DV editor thought: I generally have healthy hair because it hasn’t been exposed to any chemical treatments, but I could still see obvious results after the treatment, which was a pleasant surprise. My hair felt a lot lighter, is soft to touch, and visibly shinier. I can’t resist touching my hair after the treatment (and encouraging my colleagues to touch it). The pleasant and lingering scent of the products used during the treatment makes the experience even sweeter.
5. Give your scalp a well-deserved treat
Our scalp is an extension of our facial skin – but how many of us really take care of it like how we care for our facial skin? If you want to give neglected scalp a much-needed booster, consider the Scalp Renewal Laser-Light Therapy by Salon Vim. This three-step treatment begins with a deep cleanse with the Sonic Cleansing professional scalp brush, an in-salon-only tool, followed by a customised treatment dose prescribed by a scalp specialist, and then the Laser-Light Technology is administered to rejuvenate scalp. This technology includes a combination of low-frequency laser, IPL, and micro electric current to stimulate hair follicle and strengthen scalp.
This service is highly recommended for those with dry, sensitive, or oily scalp, and treats conditions such as dandruff, redness, irritation and controls excess sebum.
The treatment is available at all Salon Vim outlets (#04-25 313 Somerset, 235 Victoria Street, and #02-01B Wisma Atria) at SGD185, but it’s offering it at an introductory price of SGD155 for a limited period.
What the DV editor thought: There aren’t many hair salons that are known for creating beautiful styles and offering colouring services, which are also concerned about their clients’ scalp and hair health. The sophistication of this treatment sounds very exciting; while I haven’t experienced it for myself, I’m looking forward to try it.
