When it comes to skin, the bona fide experts are no doubt dermatologists and aesthetics doctors, whose specialisation is in, well, skin. If you think you can trust skincare products more if you know that they are directed and formulated by these professionals, make your way through this list of doctors’ brands. (Psst, some of them are Singaporean doctors!)

The doctor: Dr. Winston Lee, South Bridge Aesthetics Clinic
South Bridge Aesthetics Clinic, helmed by medical director Dr. Winston Lee, has dipped its hands into the skincare arena with its launch of three products, which are specially formulated for Asian skin. Launched this year, these products are designed to be one-type-fits-all solutions for patients of all ages and are formulated with Resveratrol, a type of plant compound that has strong antioxidant capabilities. The products are available exclusively at South Bridge Aesthetics Clinic, located at 277 South Bridge Road.

2. IDS Skincare
The doctor: Dr. SK Tan, IDS Clinic
Helmed by Dr. SK Tan, who has over 30 years of clinical and research experience, the IDS Clinic is arguably one of the most raved about clinics online. IDS Skincare products, which are prescribed to IDS Clinic’s patients, are the brainchild of Dr. Tan and researchers from the USA, and consists of a comprehensive range of topical skincare products, a matte foundation, and a skin whitening supplement.
Try: IDS Scrub (SGD62). Containing ultra-fine crystals to effectively exfoliate skin, this helps to speed up skin turnover, clear out impurities and absorb excess oil. 3. EHA Skincare
The doctor: Dr. Elias Tam
Founded by Dr. Elias Tam, EHA Clinic has also joined the bandwagon of dispensing its in-house skincare products last year. The EHA Skincare brand may be young, but the product offering is quite comprehensive. From basic products like cleansers, sunscreens and moisturisers, to antioxidant serum and collagen supplements, EHA Skincare touts itself to be a safe solution for its patients.
Try: EHA Moisturising Gel (SGD88). This gel-based moisturiser turns into water as you apply it onto skin. The lightweight formula feels refreshing on the skin, and can be used in place of a primer to allow foundation to glide on more smoothly and last longer. It is also enriched with Evening Primrose extract to offer antioxidant and whitening benefits.
The doctor: Dr. Georgia Lee
Celebrity aesthetics doctor Dr. Georgia Lee was suffering from a serious allergic reaction tat resulted in blisters all over the left side of her face. This in turn gave her hyperpigmentation that wouldn’t go away until she self-treated with a cream she customised for herself. This ordeal sparked her interest in skincare and eventually DrGL was born. The brand strives to offer quality products that are fuss-free and efficacious, perfect for the busy individual.

This sunscreen can be used on both the face and body and on top of basic sun protection, it also offers anti-ageing benefits by repairing the skin and shielding it against UV damage. The doctor(s): Dr Cha Mi-kyung, Dr Park Yeon-ho and Dr Lee Dongwon (pictured)
The CNP Clinic is founded by three dermatologists Dr Cha Mi-kyung, Dr Park Yeon-ho and Dr Lee Dongwon, who later developed their own skincare line after witnessing how dermatological treatment patients can see their skin condition deteriorate when skincare is not done properly. Now, the CNP Laboratory is staffed by many experienced dermatologists, and is one of the most trusted brands in Korea. The brand came to Singapore last year, and its products are available at Guardian stores.
Try: CNP Black Head Clear Kit (SGD14.10 for 3 sets of 2 masks). This comes in two parts: a mask that helps unclog pores and lift sebum so blackheads can be removed, and a pore tightening mask to refine the size of pores after this treatment. 6. Perricone MD
The doctor: Dr. Nicholas Perricone
Started by Dr. Nicholas Perricone, a board certified dermatologist and nutritionist, Perricone MD is known particularly for its anti-ageing solutions. Perricone is also an professor at the Michigan State University, and has written several books related to anti-ageing and weight loss. The dermatologist has an anti-Botox stance and is an advocate for topical anti-products as a better form of solution to fight signs of ageing. Products from the brand is available in Singapore at the Escentials boutiques.
Try: Perricone MD Chia Serum is a multi-tasking serum that is fortified with rare extracts of chia oil and fat-soluble essential vitamins. The luxuriant serum may be concentrated but is lightweight so it’s easily absorbed. This product is great for hydration and protect skin from oxidative damage.
The doctor: Dr. Howard Murad
Murad is founded by Dr. Howard Murad, who is a board certified dermatologist and trained pharmacist. A supporter of using dietary supplements to enhance skin health, and a pioneer in using Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA) in topical skincare,Dr. Murad is also the author of five best-selling books on ageing, health, and skincare.
Try: Murad White Brilliance Porcelain Serum (SGD196). Formulated with Porcelain Flower Extract and Green Tea Extract, both known for their ability to promote skin’s luminosity, the new Porcelain Serum also helps firm skin and enhance its radiance. This product is launched together with the rest of the White Brilliance range, which also consists of a cleansing cream, essence, and sunscreen. Murad products are available at Sephora stores.
8. Dr. Wu
The doctor: Dr. Ying-Chin Wu
Created by Taiwanese dermatologist, Dr. Ying-Chin Wu, Dr. WU is a line of skincare products that are developed with the concept of bringing medical treatments to home use. The products are formulated free from paraben, fragrance, and alcohol, making it a great product for those with sensitive skin and post-aesthetics procedures. Known as the “godfather” of medical cosmetics and technology in Taiwan, Dr. Wu is a leader in laser treatment and his products are designed to target problems that are commonly seen in Asian skin.
Try: Dr. Wu Intensive Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid (SGD54.90). The brand’s long-time best-seller, this product isn’t just raved about online, it also has a strong following by Taiwanese celebrities like Anni Yi and Barbie Hsu. This hydrating serum is formulated to penetrate skin deeply to hydrate it all day, and to increase its firmness, stimulate cell renewal, and accelerate its ability to repair itself. Dr. Wu products can be found in Singapore at these locations.
9. Dr. Brandt
The doctor: Dr. Fredric Brandt
Dr. Fredric Brandt was a celebrity dermatologist who practised in both Miami and New York City. But besides practising dermatology, Dr. Brandt also specialised in the research and treatment of leukemia, which began his interest in using natural elements like green tea, vitamin A and C to fight against the growth of cancer. These ingredients are also the basis of his skincare line, Dr. Brandt. The skincare products combine science with traditional botanical ingredients from the East to help achieve radiant, healthier skin. Unfortunately, Dr. Brandt was reportedly suffering from depression and hanged himself last year.
