Sunscreen is one of the most important skincare steps as it not only reduces the risk of sunburn and cancer, but also prevents ageing and sunspots.

However, we often put on sunscreen at the beginning of the day and totally forget about reapplying. The truth is that sunscreen generally lasts about two hours or so, regardless of the SPF rating.

But not every sunscreen is the same, as some require a lesser amount of time before reapplication. So, how exactly are we supposed to know when to apply our sunscreen?

Well, what if we told you there are UV stickers that show you exactly when you should reapply your sunscreen?

All you have to do is slap a UV sticker onto your skin where it’s exposed to the sun, cover it with sunscreen, and wait 30 seconds for it to absorb.

Then, expose the sticker to sunlight. It should turn clear after one minute or so, which indicates you’re fully protected from the sun. Yay!

While you’re going about your day, check on the sticker occasionally. Once it’s turned purple, it’s time to reapply your sunscreen.

You don’t even have to take off the sticker and put on a new one, as you can keep using it throughout the day. It’s that easy.

Developed by Canadian brand SPOTMYUV, how it works is that the UV stickers have a patented SPF sensing layer, with UV sensing ink that turns purple in UV light.

You don’t have to worry about it irritating your skin too as it’s clinically proven, dermatologist and paediatrician tested, hypoallergenic certified, and latex-free.

The best part is that it’s water-resistant, sweat-resistant, and towel-resistant too, so you can wear it for a day filled with lots of outdoor activities.

These stickers will certainly be very useful considering how bright the sunshine gets in Singapore. We’re definitely going to start stocking up!

The SPOTMYUV 16-Pack UV Stickers retail for S$27.98 on Amazon.sg.
