It’s the time of the year when the weather gets even warmer and more humid. Make the best out of the crazy climate with these beauty goodies that are launched recently or are launching soon.
1. Spritz on an invigorating fragrance
The Chance fragrance line by Chanel has been around for 12 years, and has always been one that sees a huge following. This year, Chanel launches another new lucky fragrance, Chance Eau Vive, the first by perfumer Olivier Polge with the Chanel Fragrance Laboratory. This energizing fragrance will liven up your humid summer days, and features grapefruit (an accord already found in the first Chance fragrance), and jasmine and white musks, and ends with fresh vetiver in the base. Chanel Chance Eau Vive retails at SGD128 for 50ml and SGD185 for 100ml.
2. Bathe your skin with rose
Besides its sensorial scent, rose is known for its moisturising and nourishing properties. Crabtree & Evelyn launches its Damask Rose skincare collection last year, and this year, they introduced the Damask Rose Daily Cleansing Foam, a gentle cleanser that produces foam that’s rich enough to help remove dirt and impurities. Use it either as a one-step cleanser or part of a double-cleansing routine after you’ve removed your makeup. Either way, it’ll definitely leave your skin feeling refreshed on a hot summer day. This retails at SGD28, and is available at all Crabtree & Evelyn boutiques.
3. Fight environmental skin stressors
Our skin is frequently exposed to external aggressors: air-conditioning and UV rays, which we have to weather every day. If you’d like to shield your skin from this daily plague, consider using RMK Skintuner Conditioning, a potent moisturiser that acts as a protective barrier between your skin and the environment. This product soothes your skin with a cocktail of hydrating ingredients, including Tilia Cordata Flower Extract, Soy Bean Extract, and Job’s Tears Extract. Its wonderful scent of Rosewood, Frankincense, Rosemary and Clary Sage as RMK Skintuner Conditioning also helps calm your mind.
The RMK Skintuner Conditioning will be available from 19 June at all RMK counters, and will retail at SGD63.
4. Get the sun-kissed look
Want to look like you’ve just gone on a summer holiday without actually going under the sun? The Body Shop’s new Honey Bronze Highlighting Dome can do the job. The creamy, lightweight highlighting cream glides onto skin easily, to give you a natural, healthy-looking glow. In three colours: champagne, pink and golden bronze. Pleasantly scented, these highlighting blushers will help to perk up your complexion instantly.
The Body Shop Honey Bronze Highlighting Dome retails at SGD34.90, and is available at all The Body Shop boutiques.
5. Envelop yourself with summer scent
Diptyque’s latest fragrance, Florabellio, is inspired by one of the founder’s childhood memories from Normandie. This fragrance carries notes of apple blossom, osmanthus, sea fennel, marine accord and roasted coffee, offering an invigorating, nostalgic, and pretty scent. It comes in two sizes 50ml (SGD144) and 100ml (SGD190) and is available at all Escentials boutiques.
6. Achieve dewy makeup
The last thing you’d want in summer: cakey, grumpy makeup. Laneige’s summer makeup collection helps make sure this will never happen, with the help of products that are designed to achieve that refreshing Korean-inspired dewy look. The collection consists of the Pure Radiant Shadow (SGD40), which has a moist and soft texture that adheres to skin lightly, without creasing or clumping, Satin Finish Loose Powder_EX (SGD52), which gives you glowing complexion that looks smooth and matte, and the Water Drop Tinted Lip Balm (SGD33), a hydrating tinted lip product that leaves your lips feeling supple and soft. These products are available at all Laneige boutiques and counters.
7. Banish adult acne forever
The warm and humid weather puts our oil and sweat glands into overdrive and this doesn’t help our cause in combatting the problem of acne. The latest extension of Dermalogica’s mediBac clearing system, Breakout Control, is its solution to treating adult acne without the use of Benzoyl Peroxide, a great ingredient for acne treatment but is also irritating to sensitive skin. The product, instead, uses other acne-busting ingredients such as Lactobacillus Ferment Zinc Sulfate and Tea Tree Oil, and can be used as both a spot or all-over treatment for adult acne.
Breakout Control retails at SGD84, and is available at AsterSpring and exclusive Dermalogica salons.
8. Amplify your eyes
Impress with your eyes when you take off those sunglasses. The new L’Oreal Paris False Lash Miss Manga volumises and curls Asian lashes that are usually short and straight. The patented arched brush is designed to fit the top and bottom lashes of Asian eyes, and offer a “3D” effect on them. It retails at SGD22.90 at major drugstores, SaSa, selected department stores and super/hypermarkets. For this month, it is available at an introductory price of SGD19.90. If you make a purchase with other L’Oreal Paris makeup products, you’ll also receive a limited edition Miss Manga Panda Eye Mask.
