In preparation for Halloween, we’ve written a few articles for you to bare your best at the party. However, we know that not everyone possess the skills and experience to achieve certain effects. There’s no need to stress out, though. Today we’ll be introducing five simple Halloween looks that takes little to achieve more! They’re so simple, we promise even a makeup novice can master them with one single try.

1. Straight out of a comic book

The beauty of this makeup look is that it is purposely harsh, and doesn’t require any blending or contouring at all. In fact, it feels more like a sketch as compared to your normal make up. You can also very easily complete this look with the existing products you have (foundation, eyeliner, lipstick); so none of all that fancy fake blood or glue!

2. The skull look

Like the first look, you’re probably not going to need anything more than what’s in your makeup bag, apart from talcum body powder. We also love that this look requires a lot of painting/shading, so there’s a lot of room for mistakes (you can always add another stroke to cover the erroneous one).

3. SnapChat rainbow filter

The internet world is going crazy over SnapChat’s new rainbow filters, and what better way to pay homage to this amazing new feature than to bring it into real life? This look would probably require a few more products if you want it to look exactly like SnapChat’s original filter, but if you’re not into the details, you can easily substitute the rainbow colours for eyeshadow colours from palettes you already have.

4. Ventriloquist dummy Halloween makeup

If you know someone who has been haunted by Chucky in their childhood, this could literally be their worst nightmare! This look requires only a few additional touches (white colour under your eyes and some lines to accentuate the dimensions of a toy doll) on top of the makeup you normally wear – super easy for the crazily creepy effect it gives!

5. Cracked porcelain face

This look requires a white face paint as a base. It is meant to cover up more than half of your face, which means you’ll only need to apply normal makeup for the other half your face. Although the cracks look really intricate in these snap shots, it doesn’t require any careful sketching; it is the freehand drawing that makes this look realistically cracked!
