The biggest eyebrow trends that are dominating 2022

That’s why, we spoke to the founder and CEO of brow salon Perky Lash, Jasmin Tay, to find out the eyebrow trends that are most popular this year.

From long-tail to fluffy brows spotted on K-pop stars like Jennie and Jisoo as well as Western celebs like Megan Fox, here are the biggest eyebrow styles that are dominating this 2022!

Brows with a natural arch

Bring big girl-boss energy with arched eyebrows, a trending brow style this 2022! Think fierce power brows as seen on Megan Fox.

While Megan Fox wears her eyebrows with high, extra-defined arches, we’re taking on a less prominent arched brow shape. Jasmin describes these eyebrows as “similar to your own natural brows, except slightly fuller and with a slight upward arch”.

The arch shapes the face and brings symmetry, making it suitable for all face shapes, especially for diamond, oval, as well as heart-shaped faces.

How can you achieve this style?

TikTokers are even using this eyebrow filter to help them figure out where their arch should be.

Otherwise, keep your cleanly shaped brows on from day to night, every day, by going for a Hybrid Brow Embroidery at the salon, as Jamin recommends.

Straight brows with no visible arch

The straight brow trend that made Korean brows popular hasn’t yet gone out of style! Yup, brows with no visible arches continue to be one of the beloved eyebrow styles this 2022.

The brows’ full volume and arch-free shape make the eyes look bigger as well as rounder, according to Jasmin. They’re also especially fitting for round and oval faces, since they follow the gentle curves rather than break the lines on the face with sharp arches.

If you need any inspiration, take your cue from Korean celebrities like Song Hye Kyo and Park Shin Hye. Wearing straight brows paired with simple eye makeup and a romantic lip shade, they flaunt a youthful, doe-eyed style.

How can you achieve this style?

Jasmin recommends using a brow powder or a brow pencil from Innisfree, which can help “transform sparse brows into fuller-looking brows” as seen in this trending brow style.

For a longer-term eyebrow transformation, visit an eyebrow salon and ask for Classic Ombré Brows, Jasmin suggests.

Using fine dots rather than lines to fill in the brows, the ombré brow style creates a soft, powdered effect that’s similar to makeup. The start of the eyebrows are shaded with a lighter hue and the colour gradually darkens to form crisp tails at the end.

Brows with an arch towards the tail

Jasmin describes these brows as having a “softer […] beginning and a bit of arch just before the outer corner of the brow”, which “helps add some sharpness to the features”.

These eyebrows are most flattering on round faces, as they create angles on a soft-lined face, and on square faces. However, spotted on celebs like Angelina Jolie and Demi Lovato, really, these silhouettes look gorgeous on almost every face shape.

In the age of face masks, these brows are an especially go-to style, according to Jasmin, as they help to lift and enhance the eyes. Even with half of your face covered by a face mask, your eyes will stand out beautifully.

How can you achieve this style?

Brow pomades are particularly useful for filling and sculpting the brows with natural-looking depth and dimension, which is why Jasmin picks the iconic Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade as the product you need to create these gradient eyebrows with a tail-arch.

Using a small and angled brush, you can start applying the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade onto the middle of your brows, sculpting from the centre towards the end of the eyebrows.

Long-tail brows

Long-tail brows are a long-time friend, but they’re especially in style this 2022! Extending way beyond the outer corner of the eye, Jasmin calls this a “dramatic arched look” that “gives off a striking appearance and attracts a lot of attention”.

It’s an added plus that K-pop star and fashion icon Jennie Kim flaunts this brow style oh-so-elegantly in so many of her makeup looks, proving that long-tail brows are in this season.

Most beautiful on longer, pear-shaped faces, long-tail brows work to make the face look wider and shorter at the temples, which balances the tall height of the face.

How can you achieve this style?

Again, Jasmin chooses the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade to “add a touch of tapered length to the tails of your brows and define the shape”.

Shade your brows with a minimal arch and extend the tails beyond the outer corner of the eye. To know where to finish your eyebrows, simply trace a line from the centre of your nose tip and past the outer corner of the eye.

“A brow that’s both short and thin could read as barely there, but a bold brow can help you look younger and make a statement,” said Jasmin.

Ideal for diamond faces, this trending bold, short brow style can be spotted on Korean celebrities like Jisoo.

How can you achieve this style?

The key to achieving this brow style is to create volume as you shade your eyebrows. That’s why Jasmin suggests using a brow gel to brush up and create natural fullness on the eyebrows.

Eyebrow gels are like brow mascaras as they come in a tube with a spoolie brush that’s used to deposit colour on your brows as you brush them upwards and outwards.

First brush your brows in the opposite direction of hair growth so that the colour transfers to your eyebrows, then brush them upwards and smoothen them for a gorgeous full-brow look.
