You’ve put up your Singapore flag and sang-along to all your favourite national day theme songs. How else can you celebrate National Day in your own way, with or without going for the National Day Parade?
Dear vainpots in Singapore: Through makeup, of course!
National Day Falsies
You know that the rhinestone eye makeup is a huge trend this season. You don’t need to be artistic to pull off this look. Star Lash has launched a pair of National Day half lashes embellished with red Swarovski crystals along the lash line. This will be available in the whole of August from Sasa, Watsons, BHG, John Little and Pink Beauty.
They sure look dazzling and remind us of a burst of fireworks at the NDP.
Here’s how they look like on me. We’ve styled this look with a pair of feline ears to represent a glamorous lion!
The shape helps give off that sultry, feline-sque vibe that I like. But I wish they’re made into full lashes instead of half lashes, simply because it’s hard to fill in the other half of the lash line with eyeliner, without it looking weird and out-of-place.
A closer look at the problem I’m referring to:
I drew my eyeliner first and had it extend my almond-shaped eyes so my eyes look longer, but pasting the half lashes at the end of my lash line and filling in with more eyeliner in the inner corners of my eyes just make the lashes look like they’re smacked in the middle of my lash line when you come really close.
Nonetheless, this a gorgeous way for you to wear red to the NDP.
Red and White makeup
Another great way to wear red? On your lips! Pair it with white (or cheat with cream, like we did) eyeshadow to complete the red-and-white look. If you’re game enough, draw a crescent and five stars on your cheek with a glittery eyeliner!
Which look will you wear on National Day?
