Ask any dermatologist or skincare expert for their top tip and chances are “sun protection” is the one thing everyone can agree on.

Sun care is certainly one of the most important steps of our skincare routine. UVB rays make our skin tone look duller and UVA rays damage our skin on a cellular level, causing the skin’s ageing process to speed up. This results in the appearance of signs of ageing such as pigmentation, fine lines, and even wrinkles.

This is why if I can only have one skincare product with me, I’ll probably choose a good sunscreen.

While I know the importance of sun protection, I’m guilty of focusing only on my face and also neglecting reapplication. It’s simply hard to apply sunscreen on the entire body without missing any spot, and even harder to remind myself to top up my sunscreen several times a day.

Quick and easy sun care that lasts all day

But I’m not one to simply give up and let laziness get in the way of beauty. My 2020 new year’s resolution is to step up on my sun care routine and I decided to start on a sun care supplement to help amp up my UV coverage.

Dr Ora Aura White Review

I added Dr. Ora’s AURA WHITE ULTRA, a beauty supplement to my daily skincare routine. This 100% vegan, gluten-free, and Halal-certified product contains a high concentration of active ingredients and natural extracts that promise to deliver skincare benefits.

This supplement contains a high concentration of antioxidants, including crystal tomato extract, pomegranate extract, rose flower extract, grape seed extract, and apple extract. These ingredients help to protect skin against harmful UV rays, reduce inflammation, and strengthen skin barrier.

Besides sun care benefits, the supplement also helps strengthen and whiten skin, while lightening the appearance of dark spots, thanks to the inclusion of stress-fighting ingredients like artichoke extract and camellia seed extract, and skin-brightening ingredients like L-glutahione and vitamin C.

I am familiar with these ingredients and know that they have a good reputation for improving the appearance of skin. Dr. Ora shared that the ingredients used are all top-grade, with a concentration of 98%, and are sourced from Japan.

These ingredients are then presented in a powdered form for easier emulsification and absorption.

It was easy to stick to the routine. I usually take one sachet after I wake up and wash up, before my breakfast on an empty stomach. I wait for about 15 minutes before eating.

The taste is very pleasant; there’s a subtle fruity taste to it.

You can either consume it directly from the sachet or mix it with 100ml of water. For me, I simply pop it in my mouth and swallow it – it’s much easier like this.

If you want to see better results, you can consume up to four sachets every day. I started amping up the dosage to two sachets per day just so that I can speed up the results.

Dr Ora Sun Supplement Before After

I like that the supplement was easy to consume (it takes just a few seconds fully swallow it) and that it tasted pleasant.

Within the two weeks after taking it, I find that my skin is more supple and more pores looked more refined. I like the confidence that my skin is well-protected from the damages of UV rays without any need to reapply my sunscreen.

After four weeks of consumption, my skin looks brighter and feel smoother than before. I like the way my skin looks; on days when I’m just running errands, I felt confident to head out without applying any foundation. The spots and blemishes on my skin, including an acne scar that’s on my cheek, were also less visible after four weeks of trial.

Sunscreen that brightens skin instantly and in the long run

Although I’m taking a suncare supplement, sunscreen should still be part of the skincare routine for a two-prong approach to sun protection.

While the supplement helps to neutralise the damaging free radicals so your skin doesn’t get harmed, a good sunscreen can help to shield the skin from UV rays in the first place. Taking a supplement and applying sunscreen at the same time ensures that you get a more complete UV coverage.

Although this sunscreen has an advanced sun filter system and SPF50, PA+++, I was surprised at how lightweight and refreshing it actually felt on the skin.

Dr Ora Sunscreen Review Before And After

This sunscreen has a tone-up effect, a cosmetic finish that is very popular in Korean beauty. Because of the natural tone-up effect that it offers, I find that this product doubles up as a great makeup base too.

I like to spray it onto my face in the morning and use a sponge to dab it out for a more even finish and to prime my skin. I find it easier to apply my makeup thereafter, and on days when I feel like wearing less makeup, all I need is the Dr. Ora AURA WHITE SUN SPRAY to even out my skin tone, and I’m good to head out!

The product also has a cooling sensation that makes the overall user experience even sweeter.

Dr Ora Sunscreen Body Review

The spray is able to dispense a large amount of product, which makes it very useful when you want to apply sunscreen on your body. Just a couple of spritz and you’ll find that you can spread out the lightweight formula across every part of your body.
