While that may be true, Bangkok’s Watsons stores actually sell many beauty products at prices 10-20% lower than what you can find in Singapore. Furthermore, they’re always having sales, making the prices even lower.

You’ll find branches of Watsons at many of the popular shopping destinations in Bangkok, including Mahboonkrong (MBK) Mall, Central Ladprao, Big C at Rama II, Major Ratchayothin, Future Park, Siam Square, and Union Mall.

3. Siam Botanicals

It doesn’t really get more natural than Siam Botanicals, which was set up when the owners realised they couldn’t find any 100% natural beauty products in Bangkok and, therefore, created their own. Their range of products includes facial products, scrubs, massage oils, bath salts, soaps, and shampoos.

A local favourite, Eveandboy is the place to be if you’re looking for a store that carries a wide range of internationally recognised products – both drugstore and high-end! Brands like Batiste, China Glaze, Eco Tools, Makeup Revolution, Milani, NARS, Physicians Formula, Real Techniques, and Sleek are all sold here. Think of it as Bangkok’s answer to Sephora!

5. Thann

7. Beautrium

Carrying many crowd-favourite makeup brands like Lime Crime and L.A. Girl, Beautrium is the SaSa-equivalent in Thailand. Its brightly lit and pink-themed interior attract many teenagers and university students looking for their next go-to makeup products, so it definitely can get a little crowded at times!

8. Erb

If you’re looking for a place to buy your fragrances and perfumes, Erb is the place to visit. A local brand established in 2000, Erb’s signature scents are inspired by beauty treatments used in the royal court of Siam, and combine the best of science and nature.

The brand also creates bespoke fragrances at its Erb Bespoke Fleurflume Bar, which allows you to create your own signature scent from its five categories of base fragrances and dozens of top notes, all created from essential oils.

1. Harnn Heritage Spa

Harnn uses wisdom from traditional Asian medicine and naturopathy, and combines it with its own natural, wonderfully fragranced products, in their treatments. The objective of the brand is to preserve Thailand’s rich heritage of ancient massage techniques and showcase the region’s natural, active ingredients.

It may not be the cheapest treatment options available in Bangkok, but it can certainly give you a luxurious, traditional Thai experience.

For the ultimate pampering session, go for the Sukhothai Passage (THB 4,800 for 160 minutes, THB 5,200 for 180 minutes). This treatment consists of a 20-minute herbal tea bath, 30-minute body scrub, 30-minute foot massage, 60-minute Thai aromatic massage, and 40-minute facial. Do note that the herbal tea bath is only available at its Central World outlet.

You’ll love its beautiful interior design and how clean the place is, but most importantly, the prices are surprisingly but pleasantly reasonable – a two-hour traditional Thai massage is only THB 500. Another popular massage chain is Let’s Relax Spa. It is a huge space with both body massage and foot reflexology rooms, but just a tad more expensive – Thai massage (THB 500/hr), and foot reflexology (THB 400/45 mins) – than the regular street ones.

Appointments are strongly recommended. And if you are looking at a two-hour session, your treatment will end with a serving of mango sticky rice!
