Even though I’m turning 26 this year, I’d say I’m considered a newbie when it comes to permanent hair removal.
Or maybe, a well-researched novice? I’ve done my fair share of Google-ing and searching for the best and most suitable ways to get rid of unwanted body hair.
Within all of my findings, I always see EstheClinic and mentally listed it as one of the best aesthetic clinics out there (but lacked the time to book an appointment).
So, needless to say, I was thrilled and excited when the opportunity to try their IPL Permanent Hair Removal came along!
I really have to commend the clinic’s clean and aesthetically pleasing environment, manned by extremely friendly and welcoming staff, and the level of professionalism embedded into their services. They were not bluffing when they spoke of high-quality treatments.
During the consultation, the esthetician analysed my skin, checked which stage of growth my hair was in, and asked about my hair removal methods. She also explained the IPL treatment and the number of sessions recommended for me.

Upon arriving at the EstheClinic, I was welcomed by the staff and told to fill out a form that required my personal information and history with medical and aesthetic services. Once I was done, the esthetician brought me to the consultation room to assess my skin.
The esthetician did a quick scan of my skin and mentioned that my skin was quite dry and there were a number of ingrown hair from my frequent shaving.
She explained the IPL technology and the difference between that and SHR as I’ve tried it before. She also gave aftercare tips like applying moisturiser or aloe vera on my legs especially since it’s very dry.
My experience with SHR for my underarms was painless and tolerable. The SHR treatment was effective in the beginning, but I did not see any progress after a few sessions as my body hair was more stubborn. As the treatment uses heat only, I always had to stay alert to ensure that it was not too hot for my skin.
However, the EstheClinic IPL Permanent Hair Removal was one of the more comfortable ones I’ve experienced, compared to other IPL treatments. The treatment was relaxing, fast, and fuss-free. My skin wasn’t red or irritated after the treatment either.
