A foundation for less than S$5? In this economy? That’s what we thought when we saw this S$2.70 foundation making the rounds on TikTok.

The videos on this foundation made some pretty big claims: flawless blurring effect, zero transfer, waterproof, and it even contains premium skincare ingredients like red ginseng, bird’s nest, and polypeptides.

Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? We weren’t the only ones who thought this, as some influencers decided to try the foundation on their own because “it’s only S$2.70 anyway.”

Could this foundation become your most cost-effective holy grail? Read on to find out.

Ivy Thom’s Lemon8 review

FV Liquid Foundation

The consistency of FV Liquid Foundation, according to Ivy, is similar to Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint Foundation, a super lightweight and easy-to-apply foundation.

The foundation blended surprisingly well into her skin, and the light to medium coverage evened out her skin tone, covering the redness on her cheeks. It gave her skin a natural glow with a slight sheen, making it ideal for the “no makeup” makeup look!

Ivy used FV Liquid Foundation from 11am to 1am to test its durability, and it lasted for up to 14 hours on her day trip to Malaysia. While it did become a little cakey near the end, it was nothing that a little finishing powder couldn’t fix, said Ivy.

Given the price, the foundation performed exceptionally well, and “if it came in more shades, this would definitely be one of my go-to foundations,” Ivy expressed. For those with sensitive skin, Ivy recommends performing a patch test before applying the foundation to your face.

Nicole Chow’s TikTok review

Nicole applied her foundation by slathering it on her face and dabbing it out with a cushion puff, which, to her surprise, blended seamlessly into her skin and covered the redness on her cheeks.

She then put the foundation’s transfer-free claims to the test with a mask, and observed little to no transfer. The waterproof test also went well, with very few transfers on the tissue paper after she soaked her entire face with water.

To further evaluate FV Liquid Foundation, Nicole did a wear test starting at 4pm and noted her skin’s conditions. Starting with a clean face and full coverage, she noticed that there was still even coverage after four hours, albeit with a slightly thinner and less smooth finish.

She later noticed dry patches and blemishes on her skin at 4 am after a night of intense dancing at the club. However, her complexion remained fresh and even overall.

She also mentioned that after wearing the foundation for 12 hours, she had no itch or irritations, nor did she experience any breakouts, which is why she recommends it to her viewers and will be using the FV Liquid Foundation as her new go-to!

Chantal Windley’s TikTok review

FV Liquid Foundation

Chantal, like us, saw TikTok advertisements for FV Liquid Foundation all over her For You Page, aptly naming it the “Chinese lady slapping her face foundation,” and had to get it out of curiosity.

She used the same application method as Nicole and even got the puff that the foundation advertises.

Despite having low expectations for the foundation, she was genuinely surprised by the glowy, natural coverage that FV Liquid Foundation gave.

The foundation also barely came off on her towel, despite the fact that Chantal didn’t leave it on her skin long enough to dry.

Her reaction to this foundation was a mix of surprise and excitement, and based on her satisfied expressions at her dewy natural complexion, we’re pretty sure this foundation works!

Is FV Liquid Foundation worth a try?

With three unsponsored reviewers giving the FV Liquid Foundation thumbs up, we’re more than convinced that this foundation truly works as advertised, albeit with slightly less dramatic results.

Despite the glowing reviews, we still have one burning question: is this foundation actually safe to use?

Based on what we’ve seen, this foundation did not irritate any of the three reviewers, nor did it cause any breakouts. We’ve also combed the internet, and none of the reviewers on Lemon8 have mentioned that the foundation caused them any skin problems.

Despite this, we’d still recommend performing a patch test and consulting your dermatologist on its ingredient list, especially if you have very sensitive skin.

Aside from that, the FV Liquid Foundation is definitely worth a shot for the price of less than one bubble tea!

FV Liquid Foundation retails for S$5.44 and is available at Shopee. A discount is offered at the time of writing. Tap in to check out the updated price!
