I liked how the Kiehl’s Retinol Fast Release Wrinkle-Reducing Night Serum was unscented, has a high concentration of retinol, and has a unique, innovative packaging which enhanced the freshness of the active ingredients.
I also liked the pointed dispenser, which allows the serum to come in droplets when I gently press the bottom of the tube.
During my first application, the serum took quite a while to be absorbed into my skin (roughly three minutes) but didn’t leave a sticky feeling which made it easy for following skincare products like moisturisers to be layered on top.
I used the serum only at night, two to four times every week. And within two weeks, my fine lines and wrinkles were gone and my pores looked smaller too!
A little goes a long way! By using just a pea-sized amount two to three times weekly, I was able to witness my forehead lines and under-eye wrinkles being smoothened slightly.
Compared to previous retinol serums or products I have used, this Kiehl’s retinol serum’s efficacy to revitalise skin texture, and visibly reduce skin wrinkles and lines are much faster.
As someone with sensitive skin, I did experience some slight peeling and stinging sensation in the first few uses but let my skin adjust to it. To counter that, I apply moisturiser immediately after the night serum and made sure to put on sunblock the next day.
Overall, Kiehl’s Retinol Fast Release Wrinkle-Reducing Night Serum was not harsh on the skin and was greatly efficient at tackling wrinkles or fine lines head-on while visibly firming and revitalising the skin to look youthful.
However, due to the higher concentration of retinol, beginners should be wary to not overuse it just to see effective results in a jiffy!

I like the innovative “refillable” packaging that makes the serum easy to dispense. Upon swatching the product on my hand, I noticed the packaging of the serum added a touch of luxury to my first retinol experience as it had some weight on hand which I tend to expect from products with similar price points.
It was pretty interesting as I got to mix the formula myself and also, I presume, use it “fresh”. I like the lightweight consistency and how it absorbs into my skin almost instantly upon application. It carries a mild fragrance but it dissipates almost immediately when the product was applied to my skin after that.
After two weeks, I noticed that the fine lines around my forehead and eye area have considerably improved. I also observed some minor improvements in my smile lines, the wrinkles under my eyes, and the shallow expression lines between my forehead.
Although my fine lines and wrinkles haven’t completely disappeared but are visibly reduced, my skin is much more even and doesn’t produce as much oil as compared to before. My pores became smaller and my skin looks much more radiant and feels plumper!
