It takes guts for a brand to call its foundation “Infallible”, considering the expectations we would have for it. This is why we are scrutinising the new L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24H Stay Fresh Liquid Foundation.

How “infallible” is this bottle of foundation and is it going to impress us?

So, we put it through 5 extreme tests

We put the L’Oréal Paris Infallible foundation through five stringent tests to see if can resist five common signs of makeup meltdowns.

1. No imperfections

What good is a foundation if it fails to cover up blemishes and imperfections? In our Coverage Test, we see if it is able to cover up the eyeliner mark we have drawn on the face of our writer, Tiara. The only way to pass? If it looks like the mark was never there.

2. No dry-out

The Infallible foundation has a demi-matte finish, and the last thing we want is for it to leave our skin feeling parched and uncomfortable. Using a hydration meter, we conduct a Hydration Test to measure the hydration level on Tiara’s face before and after she applied the foundation.

3. No transfer

Worried about your foundation transferring onto your outfits? So do we. In our Transfer Test, Tiara remove a white t-shirt with a tight collar to check the Infallible foundation transfers. To amp up the challenge, we even pit it against another long-wearing foundation in the market!

4. No shine

If you have oily or combination skin, you’ll be familiar with the annoying mid-day shine, no thanks to our hot and humid weather. Our Oil-free Test examines if the Infallible foundation keeps skin shine-free by dabbing a blotting paper over Tiara’s face at mid-day.

5. No mask-effect

Our dream foundation would look naturally flawless at the end of the day – and it definitely shouldn’t accentuate dry patches and fine lines! We take a close-up look at Tiara’s makeup in the Cakiness Test to see if the Infallible foundation holds up after 10 hours of wear. Examine it with us!

How did it hold up?

The L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24H Stay Fresh Liquid Foundation passed the Coverage Test with flying colours. Could you even tell there was a mark on Tiara’s face before?

How does it fare in the rest of the tests? Watch the video below to find out!
