I usually rely on acne patches as well as creams to spot treat whenever I notice my skin breaking out but certain creams that I’ve tried were over-drying my skin, which is why I’m happy that I trialled the Mentholatum Acnes skincare solution for acne-prone skin and loved it.

While the cleanser took slightly longer to lather and the toner had an aroma that I needed time to get used to, all the products didn’t feel harsh on my skin or dry it out at all. While products I’ve used in the past worked for my skin, I didn’t like that my skin would start to flake and feel dry after using them even though they were all pretty effective in getting rid of the bumps on my face.

In contrast with the current acne treatment in my daily routine that showed really little improvement (which I think is due to low active ingredient content), the Mentholatum Acnes skincare series actually helped my skin look less red and inflamed within a week. If you must know, my first impression of the Mentholatum Acnes range was that the products seemed a little off to me because they had a very minty, almost alcohol-like scent.

I’m glad that I didn’t give up on the products despite the overwhelming aroma because they were extremely gentle on my skin and did not make it feel dry or tight after using. My skin felt softer within two days of using the formulas, and my rough skin texture has since become smoother too.

In just three days, my skin not only looked healthier but was also more hydrated and supple without feeling greasy.

I used to diligently use certain acne treatments in my routine a few years back, but I’d since stopped using them as I did not see a difference – some even cause my skin to flare up after using them.

I have little patience when it comes to acne skincare because I am always looking for products that can deliver results instantaneously. While Mentholatum Acnes did not turn my skin around overnight, it did leave my skin looking and feeling healthier than before without damaging it because the formulas were so gentle and mild on the skin.

The products provided relatively quick results as well, as I noticed reduced acne breakouts within two days and my skin oiliness also decreased within five days.
