Koreans have long compared makeup styles to the likeness of animals. Remember the puppy eyeliner look? Yup, that’s made popular by them.
More recently, Koreans (and the rest of East Asia) have been categorising the looks of their favourite celebrities into different “types”, comparing them to animals.
For example, BTS’s V reminds people of a fox, BLACKPINK’s Jennie is being compared to a cat, and AESPA’s Karina is said to have a “snake” face.
Do you see the resemblance? We can sort of see how Jennie looks as curious as a cat and how Karina has slender eyes much like a snake.
If you’re interested in doing the quiz for yourself to find out what “animal” face type you are, all you have to do is look in the mirror and write down your results.
Take the quiz
We’re going to ask you a list of questions, and you can answer either A or B. Write down your answers for each question.
Question 1: Do you have round eyes (A) or slender eyes (B)?
Question 2: Do you have a low nose (A) or a high nose (B)?
Your answers should look something like AA, BB, AB, or BA by now. But we’ve still got two more questions to go.
Question 3: Do you have thin lips (A) or thick lips (B)?
Question 4: Do you have a round chin (A) or a sharp chin (B)?
Once you’ve written down all your answers, we can finally go into the results.
