The aesthetic of our childhood has been immortalised most commonly in fashion apparel and accessories, doused in hues of the iconic Barbie pink. We give you the hottest look of 2023: Barbiecore.

Most recently, TikTok saw the birth of another wing of the Barbiecore aesthetic, this time in the form of makeup looks.

Inspired by vintage Barbies, creators have been taking to the platform to showcase their creative renditions of Barbiecore. Let’s check some of these looks and products out!

First up, we have makeup artist Kendrah Casagrande, who gave this model a classic Barbie makeover. Using a combination of a bold pink eyeshadow, a light touch of shimmery pink topper and black shadow to line her lids, she creates this simple but sultry and seductive look which also offers a flattering lift.

She then uses a soft baby-pink blush and a warm champagne-toned highlighter to give her that bronzy Barbie summer glow.

To complete the look, she applies an apricot-pink glossy lipstick for that dramatic, freshly painted-on look.

Here’s a slightly more dramatic spin on the aesthetic. Using neon pink cream lipstick, creator Luv Beauty first layers her lids with pink blush as a base, before extending a line from the outer corner of her eyes, and tracing the crease of her lids with neon pink cream lipstick to form a massive wing.

She then fills it in with a self-concocted mixture of shimmery eyeshadow pigment and what seems to be lip gloss. The result—a stunning cut-crease winged look.

This was accompanied by a bold lip in Mattel pink that was topped off with metallic pink gloss.

Wonder how Barbiecore would fair on Asian skin? Look no further. Creator Faith shares her take on it with a K-beauty-inspired look.

She saturates the outer corner of her lids with pink shadow before packing on some shimmer towards the centre for a subtle gradient effect that makes her eyes pop.

Pushing the limits of the Y2K aesthetic that Barbiecore is surely a subset of, she then uses what we assume to be a coral-pink liner to paint on two accent lines – one extending from the outer corner of her eyes to offer them a wider appearance, and another outlining her crease, to accentuate her lid space.

She completes the look with a light touch of cream blush on the highest points of her cheeks’ natural contour for a radiant flush, and a sheer nude-pink gloss.

Barbiecore must-have products: Eyeshadows

Though there aren’t really specific products you need to use to achieve Barbie’s iconic look, we have curated a short list of some to help you get started. After all, Barbie is any and everything you want her to be. So, go wild, have fun, and doll yourself up!

1. Natasha Denona Love Face Palette

With shades of pink for both your cheeks and eyes, the Natasha Denona Love Face Palette is an excellent choice for creating your very own Barbiecore vision.

For a classic look, coat your entire lid with the bright Barbie-esque fuchsia. For a more 3D look, intensify your outer corners with the deep plum to create a smokey crease, and highlight your inner corners with the baby pink powder. If you’re feeling a little extra, top the centre of your lid with the shimmery shadow.

The Natasha Denona Love Face Palette retails at S$99 at Sephora.

2. Stila Glisten & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow

Inspired by the cut crease look Luv Beauty created? Us too—and that’s why we’ve included this in the list. The Stila Glisten & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow is no stranger to many for its intense pigmentation and long-lasting formula.

It dries down almost instantaneously, with a weightless feel. The cherry on top: you won’t experience any fallout with this. Apply shade ‘Rio’ on top of a pink shadow base to look like a dazzling Red Carpet Barbie.

The Stila Glisten & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow retails at S$40 at Sephora.

3. Jill Stuart Cheek & Eye Blossom Blush & Eyeshadow (Limited Edition)

Housed in a luxurious little glass pot is a cream blush and eyeshadow duo that, very literally, screams Barbie. This milky pink colour will give your eyes a really feminine and innocent touch, with a creamy consistency that dries matte in no time.

It has a shimmery finish, which saves you the trouble of having to add glittery or shimmery pigments to highlight your lids. Wearing this on your cheek would give your face an adorable doll-like glow too.

The Jill Stuart Cheek & Eye Blossom Blush & Eyeshadow retails at S$33 at Sephora.

4. Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush

This shade, ‘Crush on Cupid,’ is a graphic pink that really encapsulates the Barbie spirit. It’s bold, fun, and most of all, pretty. This creamy product applies smoothly without looking and feeling greasy.

Friendly to all skin tones, its sheer but buildable formula, paired with its resistance to water and sweat, has earned itself a spot among the top cream blushes in the market today.

The Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush retails at S$38 at Sephora.

5. Jill Stuart Melty Shimmer Blush (Limited Edition)

Indeed, another product by Jill Stuart. How could we resist? The packaging is giving Princess and the Pauper, and we’re absolutely in love with it. It opens to present shade ‘101’ – a magical shimmery pink blush that boasts a classy and feminine flower design pressed onto the pigment.

Its oil-rich formula allows for a smooth, buttery application, with the various pearl finishes infused, leaving behind a luscious, dewy radiance.

The Jill Stuart Melty Shimmer Blush retails at S$37 at Sephora.

6. Givenchy Prisme Libre Blush

This four-toned powder blush dispenses onto a puff that blends into a seamless Barbie pink flush when patted onto your skin. Use a brush to pick up specific shades for a more customised, intense look.

This softly-milled powder in ‘No. 01 Mousseline Lilas’ is extremely buildable and long-lasting and wears beautifully on all skin tones.

8. MAC Cosmetics Amplified Creme Lipstick

This classic product needs no introduction. MAC Cosmetics is a widely celebrated brand because of its legendary lipsticks, and this one is no exception.

This shade, ‘Do Not Disturb’, is clearly one formulated for dolls like you. The semi-glossy, full-coverage rose pink lipstick will leave your pout feeling moisturised with its ultra-creamy consistency. Its insane payoff means one swipe does the trick for the whole day.

MAC Cosmetics Amplified Creme Lipstick retails at S$37 at Sephora.

9. Gucci Beauty Rouge à Lèvres Mat Matte Lipstick

If you prefer a slightly softer look, like Malibu Barbie, the Gucci Beauty Rouge à Lèvres Mat Matte Lipstick might just be the one for you. Encased in a luxurious gold tube, the lipstick in ‘407 Patricia Pink’ is a slightly dustier pink with a matte finish.

Enriched with oils and gelling waxes, it allows for a smooth and precise application with no bleeding and minimal transfer.

The Gucci Beauty Rouge à Lèvres Mat Matte Lipstick retails at S$65 at Sephora.

10. Jill Stuart Lip Blossom Shiny Satin Lipstick

You read that right – Jill Stuart is really coming through with the Barbiecore trend. It’s her third appearance on this list, and this time, she’s giving Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus.

This sheer lipstick, in ‘Brilliant Hibiscus’, will bring out the princess in you too, especially when it comes in a stunning silver tube, bedazzled with an alluring crystal in the middle, like this.

A decadent blend of rosemary leaf extract, lavender oil, and avocado oil lends the product a smooth, consistent glide to give you a natural-looking glossy sheen.

The Jill Stuart Lip Blossom Shiny Satin Lipstick retails at S$42 at Sephora.

11. Dior Lip Glow Oil

Remember, Barbie is any and everything. If Barbie made a trip down to Singapore, she would surely hit the beach all day – like California Surfer Girl Barbie. She’s known for her bronzy tan, model-esque features, and sheer but exquisite makeup.

And she’s likely to don the Dior Lip Glow Oil in shade ‘007 Raspberry’ for a natural summertime shine.

Another iconic product, this offers your lips a treatment-like effect with the infused cherry oil, leaving a dazzling glaze that lasts all day. It is no surprise why this lip oil has, for the longest time now, been insanely raved about and overwhelmingly high in demand.

The Dior Lip Glow Oil retails at S$59 at Sephora.
