Whether you’re looking to doll up for a cute coffee date or simply want to jump on the latest makeup trend for the summer, this simple and glowy look is one worth trying out!
What is the “latte makeup” trend?
As the name suggests, it’s quite literally a look inspired by classic latte colours. Coined by TikTok beauty guru, Rachel Riger, the latte makeup trend is all about “warm, milky, and bronzy” tones that appear effortless.

Another hallmark of the trend is a smokey brown eye, which accentuates the eyes without appearing too dramatic. You’ll also see various latte makeup-inspired looks using coffee-coloured shimmers and a dash of highlight on the high points of the face for that classic summer glow.
The soft glam look also features minimal base makeup, and its use of neutrals makes it universally flattering on all skin tones and works with any outfit.

While bronze makeup and caramel smokey eyes are not new to the beauty community, it was popularised by TikTokers and even embraced by celebrities like Hailey Bieber, Maddie Ziegler, and Camila Morrone.

How to create the “latte makeup” look
Step 1: Create a lightweight, dewy base

For that “second skin” effect, opt for a lightweight and dewy base product and blend it out using a sponge. Rachel recommends using a tinted moisturiser, but a BB cream or cushion foundation could work as well!

GloWish Multi Dew Skin Tint
The multi-functional formula of this skin tint offers various application options. You can wear it alone for a sheer coverage and an all-over glow (Founder Huda Kattan’s recommended way to apply it.)
Alternatively, you can mix a drop of it with your foundation for a dewy boost, or simply dab a bit on your cheekbones for a natural, radiant highlight!

Elf Halo Glow Liquid Filter
Use a glow booster like Elf’s Halo Glow Liquid Filter under your foundation for an extra illuminated, healthy-looking complexion.
Step 2: Give your face a little definition

As bushy, defined brows are a bit part of the look, make sure to fluff them up with a brush before filling them in well.
To add definition to your face, go in with a contour under your cheekbones, along your hairline, on your nose bridge, and along your jawline. For greater ease of application and blendability, go with a contour stick.

Match Stix Matte Contour Skinstick
This cream-to-powder formula is buildable, long-wearing and can be blended out easily for a lightweight feel. Bonus: It’s available in a wide range of shades for all skin tones.
Step 3: Create a brown smokey eye

Now comes the caffeine-charged part of the fun trend. Use a brown shadow as your all-over lid colour, making sure to blend it up to your brow bone for a smokey effect.
Drag that same shade down to your lower lash line to accentuate your eyes further. Then, apply a bronze or copper shimmer on the part of your eyelids where the light naturally hits, making sure to blend it out slightly.
